Gräsviken Course and Camp Site is operated and owned by the Church of Sweden in Trollhättan and serves as an inspiring meeting place for people of all ages. Here, memorable experiences are created through camps, retreats, courses, and conferences – in an environment that invites both community and reflection.

The camp site is located in a beautiful natural setting by the shore of Lake Öresjön, with Trollhättan as the nearest city. In addition to the course and camp site, the area also features a guest cottage and a chapel.

We are looking for someone who shares the Church of Sweden's values and is driven by engagement and development. Here, you will become an important part of a small work team where collaboration, care, and a welcoming atmosphere are at the center. Together, we create an environment where guests feel seen, safe, and well taken care of.

Responsibilities

As a cook at Gräsviken, you are a central part of the operations and work both inclusively and pedagogically in the kitchen's daily tasks. The position encompasses both practical and administrative duties.

You are visible, present, and active – both within the team and in interactions with our guests in the dining room. With your engagement, you ensure high quality in both food and service.

You collaborate closely with your colleagues in the kitchen and, together with a fellow cook, are responsible for recipe development, menu planning, and purchasing.

Sustainability permeates our work and is something you value highly. We aim to cook more meals from scratch, offer a large proportion of vegetarian food, and actively work to reduce food waste.

In this role, you also work with various IT systems for orders, communication, and meal planning. We offer you a developmental position where your experience and passion for cooking contribute to creating an even better experience for our guests.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have documented, multi-year experience as a cook, as well as experience leading work groups within large-scale kitchens or the restaurant industry. Education and/or experience as a head chef is an advantage.

You have good knowledge of special diets, vegetarian cooking, as well as purchasing, and are accustomed to working with self-control according to HACCP.

The work involves the use of several IT systems, which requires that you have good computer skills and experience with diet data programs. Experience with Matilda is an advantage. You express yourself fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Who are you?

You meet people with warmth, balance, and sensitivity, and have a genuine focus on service – whether dealing with large or small groups of guests. You have a true interest in cooking and work in a structured, planned, and efficient manner.

In the daily life of a large-scale kitchen, you have the ability to organize and create order, while keeping up to date with new trends and developments in both public meals and the restaurant industry.

You are solution-oriented and flexible, with the ability to handle changes and reprioritizations smoothly. You have a natural drive to improve operations and actively contribute ideas and development proposals.

To thrive with us, you inspire others – and allow yourself to be inspired in return. You contribute to a strong team spirit and build good relationships between colleagues, operations, and guests.

You are confident in your professional role, communicative, and clear – and generously share both information and ideas. Even at a high pace, you maintain your calm, make well-founded decisions, and have the ability to separate facts from personal matters.
