Project Manager Electrical & Automation – Avesta Operations (PMO)

Outokumpu Avesta is growing – and we are now looking for a technically strong Project Manager who wants to drive our investment projects within Electrical & Automation. Here, you will play a central role in developing, modernizing, and future-proofing our production through qualified maintenance efforts and plant modifications.

This is a role for you if you thrive close to operations, enjoy being out in the plant, and want to drive projects from early feasibility studies to final delivery. You will be the one holding the whole picture together – technically, economically, and temporally.

About the role

As Project Manager Electrical & Automation, you lead technical projects related to production equipment, characterized by reinvestments, modernizations, and process technology upgrades.

You are responsible for the entire project lifecycle: from feasibility study to implementation and closure. This is done in close collaboration with maintenance, production, and external stakeholders.

You serve as a support and expert in Electrical & Automation for the entire organization during feasibility studies, procurement, and project implementation.

Among other things, you will:

• drive technical feasibility studies, needs analyses, and prepare requirement specifications
• lead projects according to Outokumpu's project model
• be responsible for economics, scope, and schedule
• coordinate and lead internal specialists and external suppliers
• follow up on deliveries, including FAT/SAT, risk analyses, and technical choices
• ensure that projects are carried out according to our safety and quality requirements

The role is operationally close – you move around a lot in the plant, engage in dialogue with technicians, maintenance, and production, and ensure that the projects work in reality.

You are placed centrally in the organization Asset Management & Investments, part of Outokumpu Avesta's Project Management Office (PMO), our joint project office.

Qualifications

• Technical education in electrical/automation, or equivalent documented experience
• Experience in project management within electrical/automation in industry or similar
• Good language skills in Swedish and English

Meritorious:

• Experience in maintenance, production, or industrial environment
• Experience with FAT/SAT, technical requirement specifications, and supplier management
• Experience with investment projects
