Job Description

At AFRY Hydro Nordics, we are facing an exciting future as one of the world's largest consulting firms within hydropower. In Sweden, we are currently 120 consultants who together drive development within hydropower – from dams and dam safety to geotechnics, hydromechanics, hydraulics, power stations, environmental design, and flow issues where we have long worked for environmentally adapted and sustainable hydropower production.

To our team in Malmö, we are now looking for you who want to develop in a consulting role and drive successful hydropower projects together with us. In the role, you will have a primary focus on design and calculation, but the tasks may vary depending on the project. If you also want to take on the role of project manager, there may be opportunities for that.

Our projects vary from smaller technical assignments to larger modernization and renovation projects throughout the country. What they all have in common is that they are complex and challenging, with no two projects being alike. Your assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

• Review of drawings
• Design management
• Perform calculations on concrete structures and/or support junior colleagues with calculations
• Develop action proposals and repair plans
• Project management of, for example, inspections and condition assessments of structures and dams

You will have good opportunities to influence and make a difference both in the projects and in the business as a whole, while also learning new things and developing in an exciting and stable industry. We collaborate with colleagues within Hydro and AFRY across the country and also have international collaborations. Work is usually performed from the office or home office, and travel and site visits to the facilities occur as a natural part of the role.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are curious about hydropower and interested in learning and developing within the industry. You enjoy delving into technical issues and thrive on analyzing and understanding complex problems and finding solutions. You are driven by learning new things and use your curiosity to continuously build on your competence.

You enjoy collaboration based on knowledge exchange and finding win-win solutions in a customer-oriented environment. Since parallel projects are common, you also need to have a good ability to plan and structure your work to handle your projects in the best way and ensure both accuracy and efficiency.

Furthermore, we see that you have:

• Several years of experience in construction within facilities/houses/bridges/harbors or larger industrial projects
• Experience in design and/or calculation of concrete structures
• Civil or university degree in engineering
• Category B driver's license
• Good Swedish and English skills

We consider it meritorious if you have experience from the hydropower industry and experience in project management.

Since the position may involve working in security-classified areas, drug tests and security checks may become relevant before employment can begin.
