Registered Nurse for Oncology Outpatient Clinic and Day Surgery, Gävle Hospital

The Oncology Clinic and Day Surgery at Gävle Hospital has a county-wide mandate and offers advanced treatment for cancer patients. We are part of the Oncology Operations Area together with radiation therapy, inpatient care, and the palliative team. Research is part of our daily routine, and we have a clinical trial unit. As a nurse, you work closely with colleagues in a group where we support each other. Here, the atmosphere is open, and we learn from one another. You meet patients at various stages of their treatment and always have someone to ask.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse at our clinic, you work closely with the patient in a varied and independent role. You are an important part of the team and are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on treatments and care measures in consultation with doctors and other professionals. Weekend duty every 5th or 6th weekend on the oncology ward 17 is included in the position.

As a nurse with us, you will among other things work with:

• Planning, administration, and monitoring of oncological treatments such as cytostatics and immunotherapy.
• Follow-up of treatments and advanced symptom management.
• Support and guidance to patients and relatives throughout the entire care process.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who, whether you are new to the nursing role or have extensive experience, have a professional and empathetic approach and thrive in an environment where collaboration and development are in focus. You have good teamwork skills and are receptive in your interactions with others. You also have the ability to plan and structure your work effectively.

In the role of nurse, you must be:

• A registered nurse.

For this position, it is meritorious if you have experience in oncological care and administering medical oncological treatment.
