Orthopedic Ward in Gävle is Hiring Nurses

The Orthopedic Ward in Gävle provides emergency care, planned surgery, and day surgery activities. The department currently consists of 26 care beds, divided among four care teams comprising nurses and nursing assistants. During autumn and spring, we have a group for elective patients (Monday to Friday) with four to six care beds. You will rotate between the acute unit and the elective part. Here you will meet a wonderful group of colleagues who spread joy and knowledge. We work in a structured manner and follow routines to ensure equal care.

Job Responsibilities

We treat, operate on, and care for patients with diseases, injuries, and pains in muscles and bones. The care team collaborates closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, dietitians, and social workers. On the ward, there is a care coordinator with whom we collaborate regarding the patient's discharge from inpatient care. With us, you contribute to the development of the operations, which may involve time for chart review, supervision, areas of responsibility, training, and participation in various projects. As we are a 24/7 operation, this involves working day and evening shifts, as well as night shifts by agreement.

As a nurse with us, you will, among other things, work with:

• Care of the orthopedic patient in close collaboration with various professions.
• Preventive care, pain relief, documentation, medication management, and contributing to the development of care for the orthopedic patient.
• Participation in various development projects.
• Identifying risks and implementing measures based on the nursing process.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has the ability to organize, prioritize, and plan work efficiently. You are committed to your work, set goals, and seek new challenges. To succeed in the role, we also see that you have good collaboration skills, are receptive, and communicate well with others. Since the work may involve making quick decisions, the ability to lead and collaborate is important, as well as the willingness of newly graduated nurses to seek help from experienced colleagues.

In the role of a nurse, you must:

• Be a licensed nurse.
• Be able to communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

For this position, it is meritorious if you have experience within orthopedics and knowledge of our care system, Cosmic.
