The Steelworks Division is now looking for a Process Engineer responsible for monitoring and developing our production process in order to achieve high quality, productivity, and operational stability. Location: Luleå.

About the role

As a Process Engineer, you will belong to the Process Development and Logistics section, which is an important part of SSAB Luleå's production. The section belongs to the Steelworks Division, which is responsible for the production of billets with associated processes from desulfurization to continuous casting. The section consists of several process engineers who support production in process- and quality-related matters.

The development of new steels is a challenging task in the work of continuously improving quality, productivity, and availability in the lines. Our ambition is to do this while simultaneously developing employees and the organization towards a safe and developmental workplace.

Your responsibility as a Process Engineer is to monitor and develop our process in close collaboration with operators and other production staff, and therefore great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.

Your main areas of responsibility

  • Monitor and evaluate process data
  • Perform and participate in root cause analyses and plan actions for process-related production disruptions
  • Investigate and monitor quality deviations
  • Participate in the development of common working methods
  • Identify and drive improvement activities within process development
  • Participate in process-related investment projects
  • Plan and conduct training for operators

About you

  • You are an open, positive, and responsive team player who collaborates well with others through good communication and close dialogue.
  • You are analytical and work in a structured manner with good order and discipline, take initiative, and have the ability to plan and manage your own work.
  • You express yourself well both verbally and in writing and have the ability to influence and engage others.
  • You contribute to well-being and job satisfaction with your personality and are positively disposed to changes and development.
  • You hold a Master of Science degree in Engineering with a focus on metallurgy and process industry, or equivalent.
