We at the Unit for Rural and Regional Development work to produce more food in Västerbotten through our food strategic work and by contributing to the implementation of the EU's and Sweden's agricultural and rural policies. The unit also works for good animal welfare, good animal health, and safe food. Through work with the Interreg programs Northern Periphery & Arctic and Aurora, we also promote international cooperation to contribute to sustainable development from a broader European perspective. On our unit, we also work for social sustainability through work with integration, human rights, children's rights, Agenda 2030, public health, and ANTDS.

Tasks

It is becoming increasingly obvious that we in Sweden need to increase our food production and food security. This is about reducing vulnerability and increasing robustness through increased regional and national food production. We also need to increase our preparedness to handle critical situations that may arise. Structures are being built and investments are made in different parts of the food chain to increase preparedness and production. The County Administrative Board has an important role in the county's food strategic work, and our tasks include several important parts to create conditions for and engagement in the food chain. The County Administrative Board is also a total defense authority that receives additional assignments in the event of a crisis or war to contribute to society continuing to function.

Your assignment will be to contribute to the work of building knowledge as a basis for the County Administrative Board's continued efforts for developed food security.

Common tasks include:

• Produce quality-assured analyses and knowledge bases to develop work on preparedness in the food sector and related industries.
• Networking and collaboration with a focus on food security.
• Information and communication efforts.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Have a relevant higher education or university degree.
• Have experience in analysis and knowledge-building work.
• Have experience working in a project format.
• Have good pedagogical skills and the ability to communicate in a target-group-adapted manner.
• Have very good computer skills in the Office package.
• Have a B driver's license.

We consider it meritorious if you also have:

• Experience in working with development processes.
• Knowledge of the parts of the food chain.
• Experience in preparedness work.
• Experience in authority work from state administration or experience from other public operations.

As a person, you are result-oriented and can work independently. You have a structured way of working and have the ability to drive the work forward according to established schedules and deadlines, you create results. You need to be good at communicating with people and expressing yourself well in speech and writing. You have good cooperation skills and contribute to a positive work climate. The work requires responsibility, professionalism, accuracy, computer skills, and efficiency.

Conditions

The position is a fixed-term appointment between the period 2026-09-01 and 2027-06-30. There are good opportunities for extension if necessary decisions are made.

The position will involve a security check in class 2 before entry and requires that the person employed is a Swedish citizen.
