Job Description

The contact nurse's role includes the following areas:

• Coordination and cohesive care process.
• Accessibility and continuity.
• Involvement and influence throughout the care process.
• Inventorization, assessment, and handling of individual needs.

At our general outpatient clinic, you will have a central and meaningful role where you work independently with your own patients with sarcoma or testicular cancer, while also being a key person in the multiprofessional team. You follow the patient during the follow-up period after treatment is completed and contribute to security, continuity, and quality in care.

In the role, you will among other things:

• Be the patient's fixed contact person.
• Make structured assessments of the patient's well-being and rehabilitation needs.
• Provide knowledge about expected reactions, side effects, and late effects.
• Offer individually adapted self-care advice.
• Provide support and counseling via phone, 1177, and My Care Plan.
• Plan and coordinate the patient's care, including booking follow-up visits.
• Be responsible for nurse-led follow-up visits.

The work is office hours, Monday to Friday.

Work Group

At the oncology general outpatient clinic, we have nurse-led clinics that are diagnosis-specific, where we follow up patients within breast cancer, brain tumor, gynecological cancer, as well as side effects after gynecological cancer treatments, neuroendocrine tumors, testicular cancer, and sarcoma.

In total, we are eleven nurses, including many specialist nurses, and one assistant nurse. In your role as a contact nurse, you are given the opportunity for independent work with patients you are responsible for, and you form an important part of teamwork with other professions regarding the patient's rehabilitation and follow-up after cancer treatment. Since oncology is a field with rapid development, improvement work is a natural part of the job.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in oncology and/or as a contact nurse.

We are looking for you who have a structured way of working, natural drive and commitment, as well as a strong sense of responsibility. You easily see both the big picture and details, drive development work, and adapt to changing circumstances. Through your sensitivity and professional collaboration skills, you build good relationships and actively contribute to a positive work climate. Personal suitability is of great importance.
