Malmö is growing, and we face increasing demands for robust stormwater management. We are now looking for an Operations Technician who wants to contribute to ensuring our stormwater stations function optimally – every day, all year round.

Job Responsibilities

As an Operations Technician, you are responsible for supervision, operation, and maintenance of Malmö City's stormwater stations and associated systems. The work is varied and takes place both on-site at the facilities and through digital monitoring systems.

Your main tasks include:

• Operation, supervision, and maintenance of stormwater and pump stations
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with pumps, electrical equipment, and control systems
• Preventive and planned maintenance according to established routines
• Monitoring via control systems (e.g., SCADA) and following up on alarms
• Documentation of actions in maintenance and case management systems
• Participation in projects, reinvestments, and improvement work
• Collaboration with contractors, suppliers, and other departments

You will become part of a group responsible for the operation and maintenance of the city's technical infrastructure. We work actively with climate adaptation and sustainable urban development, where stormwater management is a central part. The work group consists of dedicated technicians and operations staff with broad competence within water and wastewater (WAS), electricity, and mechanics.

On-call duties may occur.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Upper secondary or post-secondary education in operations technology, WAS, electricity, or equivalent
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of technical facilities
• Basic knowledge of electricity and mechanics
• Good computer skills and experience with digital documentation
• Valid driver's license (Category B)
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written

Merits:

• Experience with pump stations, WAS systems, or stormwater facilities
• Knowledge of automation and control engineering
• Experience working in municipal operations
• Electrical certification or equivalent practical experience

Since the work often takes place in an urban environment and in collaboration with several actors, it is important that you have good communication skills.

Urban Technology aims to meet the need for a well-functioning urban environment and offers locally environmentally adapted and economically efficient holistic solutions for operation, maintenance, and care within streets, parks, and buildings, as well as readiness and technical service.

The Service Administration is divided into five departments and offers everything from transport services to IT service and responding to citizens in Malmö City's contact center. We maintain streets, parks, green areas, and beaches, manage all of Malmö City's buildings, and ensure our school children receive good and nutritious meals. Together, we are a smart service partner to the city.
