We are now looking for a Municipal Director for Lysekil Municipality!

We are now seeking a Municipal Director who, together with the political leadership and the organization, wants to lead the municipality forward in a time that holds both change and new opportunities.

Job Description

As Municipal Director, you are the municipality's leading civil servant and report directly to the Municipal Executive Board. You are responsible for translating political decisions into operations and results, and you lead and coordinate the municipality's administrations. In your role, you are the manager of the municipality's administrative directors, CEO of Lysekil Stadshus AB, and head of the Municipal Executive Board Administration.

In close collaboration with politics, the organization, and external actors, you lead the municipality's strategic development with a focus on quality, efficiency, and long-term sustainability. You create clear conditions for steering and prioritization, balancing operations, economy, and long-term needs. You drive the work in line with Vision Lysekil 2030 and the goals of the Municipal Council, where collaboration and continuous development are guiding principles.

The role also involves representing the municipality in various contexts and being a clear and outward-facing ambassador for Lysekil Municipality. You understand the value of regional collaboration, see its strategic significance, and build trusting, long-term relationships both internally and externally. Lysekil Municipality collaborates with neighboring municipalities in Bohuslän in areas such as environment, IT, payroll administration, rescue services, as well as waste and recycling.

The role requires a broad societal perspective and a good understanding of the municipality's combined tasks. The assignment also includes handling issues related to crisis preparedness and civil defense, as well as contributing to good conditions for a strong business community and a continued attractive municipality.

Qualifications

You have an academic degree relevant to the role and several years of managerial experience at a strategic level. You have led other managers and have had responsibility for operations, economy, and personnel. To succeed in the role, you need experience in financial and operational management, as well as experience working in a politically governed organization and collaborating with political representatives and trade union partners.

You have the ability to lead in complex contexts, make well-founded and objective decisions, and contribute with strong analytical skills, holistic thinking, and very good communication skills.

As a leader, you are secure, clear, and development-oriented, with the ability to create engagement and participation. You act with humility, respect, and sensitivity, building trusting relationships both internally and externally. You contribute to creating legally secure and equal processes. You create structure and stability even in change and foster a good working climate where dialogue, collaboration, and a common direction are a natural part of the work.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. For the role, it is required that you have very good skills in expressing yourself in both speech and writing in Swedish.

The position is classified for security reasons, and a security clearance check will be conducted prior to employment according to the Security Protection Act.

A Category B driver's license is required.
