Job Description

The work includes both ward duties and outpatient clinic responsibilities. The position involves being on-call (back-up duty) in Internal Medicine during evenings, nights, and weekends. You will also take responsibility as the Head of Department during on-call hours, and the role may include operational development, such as medical leadership tasks. Teaching and supervising medical students, house officers (AT), specialty trainees (ST), and BT doctors is also part of the role.

A Senior Consultant is expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills, take responsibility for operational development, and lead projects and improvement initiatives.

A Senior Consultant is expected to have an academic approach, contribute to the development of evidence-based care, and supervise students and colleagues in all clinical situations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with specialist competence in cardiology.

Requirements:

• Several years (at least 2 years) of well-merited clinical service as a specialist physician with broad and extensive knowledge within the respective specialty.
• Documented teaching and university merits (including approved specialty training supervisor education).
• Ability to work independently as a back-up consultant, which includes medical leadership responsibility during on-call hours and taking responsibility as Head of Department during on-call hours.
• A Doctor of Medicine degree and active ongoing research are meritorious for the Senior Consultant position but are not mandatory.

We will also place great emphasis on personal suitability, particularly the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.

• Any additional documented merits regarding, for example, clinical knowledge/experience, clinical development work, leadership experience, and anything else the applicant wishes to highlight as meritorious for the sought position.

Verification of medical licensure and specialist certificates will be conducted via IVO and HOSP.
