More information about what it is like to work in Uppsala Municipality can be found at https://www.uppsala.se/jobb/ (https://www.uppsala.se/jobb/)

We will request extracts from the criminal record register before employment can be offered for positions within law enforcement, specifically in the child and youth sector.

1 position(s).

Do you want to work with investigative work with a strong focus on – and together with – the people we serve? Are you an experienced social secretary who wants to contribute to a pleasant work group in an organization that has made significant investments in both salary and competence development – then we would like to welcome you to our social services!

The Investigation and Intervention area consists of six investigation and follow-up units that work with all types of issues in families with children aged 0–20 years. Approximately 20 social secretaries, two team leaders, and one unit manager work at these units. Five units are located centrally in Uppsala, and one unit works targeted towards a so-called socially disadvantaged area and has its office in Gottsunda Center. Here you have the opportunity to work locally close to those we serve, while benefiting from the advantages of working in a large municipality. One of the investigation units also has a special assignment to work with cases where concerns involve honor-related violence and oppression, as well as children in protected housing.

Together, we strive for a team-based approach characterized by collegial support, learning, shared responsibility, and an appreciative internal culture.

As an employee, you are our most important asset, which is why we have invested in higher salaries and clear career paths. Good starting salary and a plan for your competence development. We want you to develop and stay with us!

Read more about the Social Services Administration's competence and authority ladder here.

Here is what we are also proud of:

  • Flexible working hours that can contribute to job satisfaction and a balance between work and private life.
  • Opportunities for competence development regardless of where you work in the municipality. (As a social secretary within child and youth investigation and follow-up, there is a competence and authority ladder.)
  • 3,000 SEK in wellness allowance every year.
  • Option to exchange part of your gross salary for pension savings or to rent IT equipment, office furniture, or a bicycle.
  • Participation in activities such as photography courses, choir singing, jogging sessions, and much more through the staff association PULS.

Description of duties

Working with us is characterized by extensive collaboration and great development opportunities. As a social secretary, the role involves handling investigations and following up on interventions securely and efficiently according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU).

Promoting the participation of children and families and increasing the involvement of networks is one of the department's main focus areas and an approach that should permeate everything we do. All employees are trained in Signs of Safety, and in the investigative work, it should be evident that we have high participation from the child and family and work in close collaboration with the surrounding network.

The Social Services Administration in Uppsala is transitioning to the new Social Services Act (SoL) with the goal of providing high-quality social work. We meet children and families when they need us most, and a meeting with us should mean good treatment, clarity, and participation. We strive to live up to the municipality's and the Social Services Administration's citizen pledge: "We are here for you." In Uppsala Municipality, we have invested in specialized interventions run in-house based on the child's needs – we run our own residential care homes (HVB) and have increased our interventions in outpatient care for several years.
