Our Operations

Norra Länets Psychiatry is part of the Psychiatry Department within Region Uppsala and belongs to the Addiction and Neuropsychiatry section. The operations are located in Tierp with branch clinics in Gimo, Skutskär, and Tärnsjö. As a specialist psychiatric outpatient clinic, we offer assessment, treatment, and follow-up for adult patients over 18 years old with, among other things, affective disorders, psychotic disorders, neuropsychiatric disabilities, personality disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.

At the clinic, several professions work together, including doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers/counselors, rehabilitation coordinators/occupational therapists, and medical secretaries. The operations are conducted based on evidence-based care processes and guidelines, in close collaboration with primary care, the municipalities in the catchment area, habilitation services, and other psychiatric operations within Region Uppsala.

Psychiatry in Region Uppsala is undergoing a comprehensive development and transition process focused on offering more home-based care and strengthening patients' opportunities for self-care. As an employee, you will be involved in this development work and contribute to developing and quality-assuring routines, working methods, and care processes with a clear focus on patient safety.

Your Role

As a counselor/social worker here, you meet patients in many different life situations and work with varied and developing tasks. You conduct psychosocial assessments and treatment interventions in close collaboration with other professions at the unit. The work includes individual contacts with patients and relatives, as well as collaboration with care neighbors, authorities, and other actors to ensure the right support and interventions.

You will become part of a competent team where collaboration and knowledge exchange are central, while the role also offers significant scope for independent work. Competence development occurs through professional meetings, networks, and cross-professional collaborations.

The role also includes the task of Rehabilitation Coordinator (REKO). You coordinate, plan, and follow up on rehabilitation efforts to support patients' return to work or other meaningful activities based on individual prerequisites. As a rehabilitation coordinator, you serve as a crucial link between the patient, employer, authorities, healthcare providers, and other professions to ensure that the right support is given at the right time.

Your Qualifications

You, the applicant, hold a degree in Social Work, with relevant experience such as work in operations involving authority enforcement or within specialist psychiatry. A license as a Health and Social Care Counselor is meritorious.

Your Competence

We are looking for you who are responsible, structured, and solution-focused. You have good collaboration and communication skills and thrive working both independently and in teams. You collaborate well with patients, colleagues, and external partners. You are flexible, engaged, and have a development-oriented working style that contributes to the continued development of the operations.
