Job Description

Do you want to take a leading role in complex projects where technology, business, and customer value meet? We are now looking for a Lead Engineer who wants to drive the development of high-quality engineering solutions within our largest projects.

About the Role

As a Lead Engineer, you will lead the assigned engineering area within Large Projects and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions – on time and within budget. You are responsible for maximizing value creation for our customers while contributing to increasing the project's business potential.

You lead, coach, and support our Design Engineers in delivering technically advanced solutions under complex project conditions. The role requires a structured, proactive, and self-directed approach to work.

You will report directly to the Project Management Office Manager in Sweden.

Your Responsibilities

  • Act as a customer-facing technical partner and be responsible for the delivery of engineering services within Large Projects in Sweden and Northern Europe
  • Lead project teams of Design Engineers and ensure that technical goals are achieved according to scope, budget, and schedule
  • Optimize design solutions in accordance with relevant standards, regulations, and customer requirements
  • Collaborate closely with other projects to solve technical challenges and ensure quality and delivery precision
  • Act as a technical advisor and coordinate with the customer's specialists
  • Support project management in the planning and development of projects, particularly regarding feasibility and time assessments

What do you bring?

To succeed in this role, you have an engineering degree (e.g., civil, mechanical, or structural) and several years of experience leading large, complex projects where you have delivered high-quality technical solutions.

You have strong analytical skills and a structured, self-directed work style, and you can translate complex requirements into clear and feasible deliverables. You thrive in a leadership role where you collaborate cross-functionally and maintain a holistic perspective even in complex project environments. We also look for:

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams in parallel projects
  • Very strong communication skills and confidence in decision-making
  • Good business understanding and ability to handle risks in a structured way
  • Experience in project planning and execution from start to finish
  • Ability to handle pressure and continuous changes in a structured way, with a strong focus on the overall business and creating a good customer experience
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

What do we offer?

At Hilti, you get more than just a role. You get responsibility, development, and the opportunity to make a real difference.

  • A central role in a market-leading global company with a strong local presence
  • Clear ownership and mandate within your area of responsibility
  • A caring and performance-oriented culture where collaboration and trust are crucial
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and long-term career development

  • A workplace where your ideas, structure, and drive are valued
