Job Description

Are you ready for a new challenge and do you want to be part of a helpful and engaged team? We are now looking for two social secretaries (social workers) for our wonderful Child Investigation Unit. To strengthen our leadership team, we have expanded with an additional Senior Social Secretary. We are looking for you who have several years of experience in authority exercises regarding children and young people and want to contribute to continued quality and development. If you are the one we are looking for and have the right competence, there is an opportunity to become a Specialist Case Worker with a salary increase and extended delegation.

On the unit, social secretaries, specialist case workers, senior social secretaries/team leaders, two administrators, and a unit manager work together. We work with the target group of children aged 0–12 years and their families. The assignment consists of investigating children's needs for protection and/or support according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU), as well as making preliminary assessments in ongoing cases. The assignment also includes following up on decided measures.

We have a competence and authority ladder that enables internal career progression without managerial responsibility and clarity regarding expectations, both from the employer and the employee.

Work at the Child Investigation Unit is characterized by structure in the form of fixed forums every week, e.g., preparation meetings, to promote good quality and security in the professional role. We actively work for good cohesion and a good working environment. For us, it is important that you as a new social secretary on our unit have the opportunity for a good start. As a new employee, you will undergo an introduction which means you will receive close support and can be a co-case worker in cases during the first period, to strengthen you as a new employee.

All employees will participate in "Yrkesresan" (The Professional Journey) to ensure a good introduction and further competence development during the time you are employed. It contains essential training moments adapted to the target group we work with and based on how long you have worked in the field.

We work according to Signs of Safety in investigation and treatment processes concerning children and young people. We have continuous external supervision that provides support, space, and tools for you to develop in your professional role.

Selection and interviews will take place continuously during the advertising period.

Qualifications

Formal Competencies:

  • University degree in Social Work (Social Work Bachelor's/Master's).
  • At least 2 years of work experience in investigative work within the framework of social services.
  • Category B driver's license and driving experience.

We consider it meritorious if you have experience with BBIC (Barns Behov i Centrum - Children's Needs in the Center) and SoS (Signs of Safety).

To succeed in your role as a social secretary:

  • You work to follow statutory requirements, policies, and instructions and adhere to set timetables.
  • You have the ability to see what needs to be prioritized and organized, are efficient, and use resources to achieve results in the best way possible.
  • You work legally secure and have good assessment skills.
  • You are good at working both independently and together with others; you are perceived as stable, easy to build trust with, and always strive to provide a good reception.
  • You easily create and maintain good relationships and collaborate well with people in different contexts and functions.
  • You have good initiative and understand spoken and written communication well.
  • You have good documentation habits and can express yourself in speech and writing. You adapt your language to different situations and functions.

A certificate of good conduct (extract from the police register) is required for this position. This will only be requested from the final candidate in the last step of the recruitment process.

Employment type: Permanent.
Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-06-15, end date: 2026-07-13.
Working hours: Daytime.
