As a programmer at Provektor in Skara, you will become an important part of a team working closely with customers, technicians, and installers. Here you will combine PLC programming with a practical understanding of electricity, control systems, and modern automation.

Provektor is part of a larger group but retains the feeling of a local, customer-oriented company. With us, you will find short decision-making paths, a flat hierarchy, and a focus on quality, safety, and long-term sustainability in everything we do.

What you will do

In the role of programmer, you will work on developing, testing, and commissioning control systems and PLC solutions, often in project form together with technicians, engineers, and installers. You are involved from requirements and design to final delivery and customer follow-up. The work is varied and involves both office work and close contact with the field.

  • Program, configure, and maintain PLC systems (e.g., ABB, Siemens, Mitsubishi) for various types of facilities
  • Participate in projects together with electrical and automation colleagues, from preliminary studies to commissioning
  • Troubleshoot, test, and document code, control logic, and functions in a structured manner
  • Collaborate closely with installers and technicians during startup, optimization, and upgrades
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of standards, function blocks, and internal working methods
  • Provide technical expertise in customer meetings and help find solutions that work in practice

Why you want to work here

At Provektor, you become part of a team that enjoys solving problems together and helping each other succeed. The culture is open, inclusive, and down-to-earth, with a focus on teamwork, responsibility, and good communication. Your competence is taken seriously, and you will receive both trust and support to grow in the role.

You can look forward to a secure employment with order and structure, where quality, safety, and long-term customer relations come first. We offer a fixed salary, collective agreement, and good opportunities for competence development, training, and personal growth. The work is carried out both independently and in teams, and there is room for flexible working hours and methods when the business allows.

Your profile

We are looking for you who thrive in a technical everyday life where your code has a direct impact on real facilities and systems. You have a structured approach to work, like to follow up on your solutions, and are meticulous regarding both function and documentation. At the same time, you are communicative, receptive, and enjoy working closely with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • At least 4 years of experience in PLC programming in process plants, with experience in developing, testing, and maintaining code
  • Post-secondary education in computer science, programming, automation/PLC, system development, or equivalent work experience
  • Basic understanding of electrical power, electrical installation, or industrial/technical systems, preferably with a practical electrical background
  • Good skills in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing, and the ability to document clearly and understandably
  • Experience working in projects together with technicians, engineers, or installers

Desirable skills

This is not a requirement, but if you have experience in any of the areas below, it is an extra plus. If you see that you have the right basic profile but lack something here, we still encourage you to apply. We believe in learning, development, and building competence together.

  • Experience with SCADA systems or other monitoring and control systems in industry.
  • Good knowledge of structured text.
  • Understanding of databases, APIs, and integrations with higher-level systems or SCADA
  • Good knowledge of servers and networks.

Location

The position is located in Skara, with Provektor as your home base. Here you work closely with both colleagues and customers in the region, while being part of a larger group with projects and collaborations on a national level. The role primarily involves work in and around Skara, with some flexibility in working methods depending on projects and customer assignments.
