Your new job

Most of your work as a nursing assistant involves direct care and support for the residents. The work involves providing person-centered care in all aspects required for the resident to feel safe and live as meaningful and normal a life as possible. For example, by helping residents with hygiene, dressing, meals, and offering community, activities, and walks. Other tasks include following jointly determined routines such as placing orders, setting tables, serving food, handling dishes, washing, replenishing consumables, administering medication, and escorting to, for example, the dentist when needed. In all these aspects, the residents should be made involved and activated as much as possible to promote their functional capacity. The work also includes providing support to relatives and palliative care and support in the final stage of life. The work includes various forms of handover reporting, documentation, contact person duties, ombudsman work, and preparing for regular team meetings and workplace meetings. The work also includes systematic work with both Senior Alert and the BPSD register.

You administer medication and certain other interventions on delegation from the nurse, carry out certain rehabilitation interventions on delegation from the occupational therapist/physiotherapist, and continuously report back and evaluate operations both orally and in writing together with colleagues, unit manager, and nurse.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant and have experience working with dementia care. A specialist education as a nursing assistant in dementia and/or experience working with the BPSD register is meritorious. We value personal maturity and place great importance on personal suitability.

You are a calm and secure person with an empathetic approach that permeates everything in your work. In your work, you start from a health-promoting approach, which means that you look at the healthy aspects and the possibilities and resources that exist in each citizen. You have a strong commitment and interest in the citizen and their life story. In this way, you also create good relationships with those you are there for in your work.

Since the work involves contact with citizens, relatives, and colleagues, and includes documentation, we see that you have very good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech, reading comprehension, and writing. You should be able to actively participate in training/information at workplace meetings and be able to absorb information both orally and in writing. You need to have very good computer skills as we work both with a mobile working method and at a computer in the office.

Welcome to us

Öxnebacka elderly care home is located in Öxnehaga in Huskvarna with good bus connections from central Jönköping and Huskvarna. At Öxnebacka, there are 60 apartments. We have five units for people with dementia and a short-term unit with a somatic focus and a palliative guarantee place.

The recruitment concerns both permanent positions with 100% employment, with immediate entry or as agreed, as well as fixed-term vacancies with entry and exit as agreed. Working hours are scheduled for daytime and evening hours both weekdays and weekends, as well as every other weekend. We work with flexible working hours, joint planning, so work at another unit may be relevant. Jönköping Municipality aims for full-time as the norm and always offers 100% employment.
