The Urban Services Department has an important and exciting mission to deliver, coordinate, and develop services for residents and departments in the City of Mölndal. The department employs approximately 550 staff members and is organized into four business areas: food and facility maintenance, water and recycling, city maintenance, and support and customer service.

We are now looking for a positive and engaged cook for Svejserdalen Preschool. Together with your 140 colleagues in 70 kitchens within the food unit, we create the best possible meals every day by focusing on the guest and maintaining an open dialogue with our customers.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who are an engaged cook and are eager to take on new challenges. The meal is an important part of the operation, where you as a cook play a key role. Your duties include planning and preparing nutritious, safe, and delicious high-quality meals in accordance with the Swedish Food Agency's guidelines (Good Food in Preschool). You must have good knowledge of food allergies/food intolerances. An important and prioritized goal for us at Food Mölndal is to increase the proportion of organic raw material purchases and to actively work on reducing food waste.

Mölndal has many production kitchens and focuses on cooking from scratch, with bread baking being part of the daily work. As a cook in the City of Mölndal, you also have the opportunity to participate in various networks.

In addition to food preparation, the job responsibilities include among other things:

• Actively working within given budget frameworks
• Having purchasing responsibility according to the city's current routines
• Following self-control programs
• Actively working in our digital tool for waste measurement

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a cook's education and at least 3 years of documented experience. You need to have knowledge of self-control, food hygiene, and special diets. You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, as well as good computer skills including knowledge of the Office package.

We would like you to have a burning interest in cooking good food and a desire to develop within the profession. You are creative and curious about the students' thoughts and opinions regarding food. You take responsibility, work carefully and systematically, and have the ability to plan and prioritize your work.

To succeed in the role, you need to be able to collaborate well with different professional groups and create trusting relationships within the operation. You communicate clearly and respectfully and contribute to good cooperation between the kitchen, the children, and the preschool's operations.
