Do you want to make a difference in the health, development, and well-being of children and young people? We are now looking for an engaged and confident school nurse who wants to be an important part of our student health team.

As a school nurse with us, you work to promote health, prevent illness, and provide support for our students from preschool class to grade 9. You conduct health checks, vaccinations, and health conversations, while contributing medical expertise to the school's student health work.

You are part of a student health team consisting of, among others, the principal, special education teacher, counselor, senior mentor, and school psychologist. Together, you work to create the best conditions for the students' learning, development, and sense of security.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health checks and health conversations according to current guidelines.
  • Be responsible for the school vaccination program.
  • Provide advice and support to students, guardians, and staff regarding medical issues.
  • Document and follow up on student health interventions.
  • Actively participate in the school's student health team.
  • Work to promote health and prevent illness to strengthen the physical and mental well-being of students.
  • Take responsibility for the Student Health Medical Intervention (EMI), focusing on quality, patient safety, and the development of operations in accordance with current legislation and guidelines.

We are looking for someone who

  • Is a licensed nurse with specialized training in child and adolescent health, district nursing, or school nursing.
  • Has a genuine interest in the health and development of children and young people.
  • Is independent, responsible, and has good collaboration skills.
  • Builds trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
  • Has good ability to plan and organize your work.

Previous experience as a school nurse is an advantage.

About the organization

Strängnäs Montessori is a parent-driven independent school located in the scenic Sundby Park in Strängnäs. Our premises are bright and fresh, and we all help maintain and preserve a pleasant learning environment. Relationships and treatment are something we value highly, which contributes to a good working climate in the organization. We have approximately 600 children between the ages of 1-16 (preschool, after-school care, and primary school) and about 100 employees. Our operations are inspired by Maria Montessori's pedagogy.
