Job Description

Are you an experienced manager looking to support a government agency for a limited period? We have the position for you!

The Swedish Maritime Administration (Sjöfartsverket) is in need of a Deputy Manager within Operational Hydrography for the Business Area Hydrography, Production. Operational Hydrography consists of 37 employees working on board ships.

As an interim manager, you will act as the Deputy Manager for Operational Hydrography, with personnel and work environment responsibility for approximately half of the employees, and the ability to lead the entire operation when needed. You will plan the work for Operational Hydrography together with the Manager of Operational Hydrography and the Manager of Hydrography Administration. As an interim manager, you will be part of the Production Group's management team and report to the Production Manager.

Examples of tasks:

  • Conduct employee and salary interviews, and coach employees.
  • Personnel planning for ships in coordination with the Manager of Operational Hydrography and the Manager of Hydrography Administration.
  • Follow up on work environment rounds, risk analyses, and workplace meetings on the ships.
  • Drive recruitment processes together with the Manager of Operational Hydrography.
  • Actively participate in the work of the Production Management Team.
  • Participate in the evaluation and development of the role of Deputy Manager for Operational Hydrography.

As a consultant at Randstad, you are employed by us but work on-site at one of our clients. You enjoy the same benefits as at other employers with collective agreements, such as wellness allowances, occupational health services, insurance, and discounts on gym memberships. In addition, you are offered numerous career opportunities, the chance to meet different corporate cultures, and experience from various industries, which helps develop your skills and build a robust CV. The position involves many contacts, so good collaboration and communication skills are important. We see that you are driven and accustomed to working independently. If you are looking for an employer that offers varied assignments and new networks, you will thrive with us.

The work is primarily performed on-site at the Swedish Maritime Administration's premises in Norrköping, but there may be opportunities for remote work 1–2 days a week depending on the operations. Travel throughout Sweden with overnight stays is common in this assignment. Since this position is security-classified, final candidates will undergo a security clearance check. The preliminary start date is estimated for September 1, 2026 (after completion of security clearance), and the position is full-time for 6 months, with the possibility of extension for another 6 months.

Since this is an assignment within the public sector, you must clearly state in your CV that all requirements in the qualification profile are met for us to be able to move you forward in the process. Specify which assignment(s) demonstrate the required experience. The time period should be stated in year and month (YY-MM) and whether it was a full-time or part-time employment. Selection and interviews are conducted continuously, so apply today if this position suits you!
