Who we are

The Department of Work and Welfare consists of Individual and Family Care, Support, Service and Housing, as well as Education, Social Security and Prevention. In total, we have approximately 300 employees who work in a salutogenic and solution-oriented manner, with a knowledge base in methods grounded in science.

Our mission is to help and support individuals with social problems and/or disabilities, to work preventively and promotively to counteract exclusion and social problems, and to find their way into working life towards self-sufficiency through studies or employment. From a children's rights perspective, we help, support, and protect children and young people so they can live and develop in good and secure conditions.

Job responsibilities

You will teach subjects within the Swedish National Agency for Education's vocational package for Cook, with a focus on local sourcing Meal Service, as well as Hotel and Tourism.

We are looking for you who work consciously to create a good learning environment that is challenging, stimulating, and attracts students to curiosity and learning. Your work also includes preparation for, supervision of, and follow-up of workplace-based learning (APL) according to the Agency's guidelines, as well as evaluation, assessment, and grading. You actively participate in the school's quality work and contribute through dialogue with colleagues to create a learning organization. Through reflection and creativity, you develop the quality of the work and advocate for a good learning and working environment for both staff and students.

The position is a vacation service position (covering leave).

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are subject-qualified and licensed to teach subjects within the Swedish National Agency for Education's vocational package for Cook, with a focus on local sourcing Meal Service, as well as Hotel and Tourism. Several years of experience in these industries is meritorious.

You have experience working with students who have varying support needs and have good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents, which you can apply in daily work.

You recognize yourself in having experience working with adults and adult learning, and you have a good ability to spark interest in the subject. You understand and can develop students' knowledge and have the ability to adapt teaching based on the individual's different prerequisites and needs. You are a good listener and have the ability to create calm in the work with students.

You have very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing and good ability to use digital tools and digital learning platforms in teaching.

Personal suitability is given great weight.

A car driver's license (Category B) is required.

Employment terms

Type of employment: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
Start date: 2026-08-06. Vacancy for six months.

According to the School Act (2010:800), you must be able to show an extract from the criminal record register when offered employment.
