We are looking for a teacher for the Electrical and Energy Programme.

Responsibilities

Teaching and other teaching duties at the Electrical and Energy Programme. You will teach in all year levels within alarm, maintenance, and electrical technology. The EE programme offers specializations in Electrical Technology and Energy Technology. You will work with both specializations.

The teaching role also includes mentorship of students, where you encourage students to take initiative, contributing to responsibility for their own development. Through your mentorship, you will also collaborate with students' guardians and the student health team on matters concerning individual development. You will be part of a work team.

Requirements for the position:

• Legitimized teacher with qualifications to teach at the upper secondary level in the electrical and energy programme. However, you who work within the electrical and energy industry and wish to try out the profession and are interested in starting training to become a vocational teacher, may also be of interest.
• You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

Merits for the position:

• Have worked as an electrician (installation or industrial) for a few years, either as a self-employed entrepreneur or as an employee.
• Have good and established contacts within the electrical and energy industry.
• Have knowledge of the requirements and guidelines that the Central Trade Council for the Electrical Industry (ECY) sets for obtaining an electrical certificate and the path to becoming a qualified electrician, as well as knowledge of the legislation governing electrical installations and electrical safety.

Personal qualities:

We are looking for you who have both practical and theoretical experience in the field. You have a pronounced ability to collaborate, can take initiative, and have the will and ability to meet and support each student in their learning based on their knowledge level. As a teacher, you see opportunities in working with ICT as a natural tool in learning and teaching. We would appreciate it if you have experience working with young people. Good knowledge of the local labor market is an advantage. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

About the workplace:

Vägga Upper Secondary School currently has just over 1,000 students and 150 employees. The school offers most national programmes as well as introductory programmes and adapted upper secondary school. The upper secondary school is divided into four school units with a responsible principal for each unit.

The Education Administration has approximately 1,200 employees and is responsible for preschool, compulsory school, adapted school, upper secondary school, municipal adult education, assignment-based education, and Swedish for Immigrants (SFI).
