At Fjälkinge School, we focus on early interventions and systematic work to adapt the school's resources to the students' needs. Your Role with Us

A significant part of this role involves launching and managing a special education group for students in need of special support, with a focus on neurodevelopmental disorders (ND).

As a special teacher, you work with advanced knowledge of literacy and language development as well as mathematics development, focusing on the individual level. You use special pedagogical methods to plan, prepare, and conduct teaching, supporting the student based on their specific difficulties.

You conduct and document assessments, investigations, and various forms of pedagogical tests aimed at increasing the understanding of the student's difficulties in schoolwork. As a special teacher, you also contribute your expertise to pedagogical investigations, adaptations, and action plans. You work to remove obstacles and difficulties in the learning environment, develop alternative learning environments, and learning tools. Issues regarding inclusion and core values are a natural part of your daily work.

The role involves creating relationships, both internally and externally, characterized by mutual respect and trust, and meeting students where they are. You are a qualified conversation partner in matters concerning children's and students' language and mathematics development within work teams and student health teams.

You meet students with high expectations, engaging, inspiring, and stimulating them towards learning and personal responsibility. You lead and organize the work to create a secure learning environment based on mutual respect and cooperation. You systematically reflect on and evaluate practical work individually and in collaboration with others. The duties also include planning, prioritizing, and taking responsibility for your own time and development.

Who Are We Looking For?

You have a teaching license with eligibility to teach as a special teacher regarding special support in grades F-6 in primary school. It is an advantage if you have a teaching license with eligibility to teach Swedish and mathematics in grades 1-6 in primary school.

The position requires that you have experience of at least 3 years of well-regarded work in teaching within the school system and experience teaching in grades F-3 or F-6 in primary school.

You can implement the school's mission regarding students in need of special support. The role requires the ability to adapt working methods and approaches to the conditions of different groups and individuals.

Naturally, you are well-versed in current pedagogical and didactic research and can apply your advanced knowledge of literacy, writing, and language development/mathematics development in daily practice. We want you to have good knowledge of and ability to work according to current regulatory documents, as well as good knowledge of alternative learning tools.

You can exercise situational learning and leadership based on understanding the students' situations and values and meeting them where they are. You create relationships, both internally and externally, characterized by respect and trust, and can engage, inspire, stimulate, and strengthen students towards learning and personal responsibility.

You have the ability to systematically reflect on and evaluate practical work individually and with others, as well as the ability to document in a structured and high-quality manner. Naturally, you are well-versed in and adhere to the ethical principles for teachers.

To enable us to assess your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching license. If there are no eligible licensed teachers, you may be employed on a fixed-term basis as an unlicensed teacher according to the Education Act. When we offer you the position, you are required to show an extract from the police record to allow us to employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.

About 500 students attend our school. The school is located in three different buildings. The schoolyard invites to many different activities with its natural elements of bushes and trees. There are also playgrounds, football fields, and a basketball court. Within walking and cycling distance are Fjälkinge backe, Lilles backe, and the nature-rich Kjugekull.

An football academy is run at Fjälkinge School's middle school in collaboration with Malmö FF, with the goal that the student develops both academically and as a football player.

It is easy to reach Fjälkinge School by both train and bus.
