As a nurse, you will gain both depth and breadth within your field of expertise, as Visby Hospital, the island's only emergency hospital, handles all patients on Gotland. Communication between Visby and the rest of the country is good, and on Gotland, distances to work and leisure are short. As a nurse with us, you will work at the Infectious Diseases, Lung, and Allergy Clinic. Here, nurses from various professions work together with physicians specializing in infectious and lung medicine to improve the quality of life for patients with infections, lung diseases, and various allergic conditions.

We are looking for a nurse who will serve within allergy combined with infectious and lung care.

Your responsibilities

At our clinic at Visby Hospital, you will work as a nurse in collaboration with physicians and other professions. Here we assess referrals, conduct investigations, diagnose, and treat patients.

As a nurse, you are responsible for the nurse-led patient clinic. You perform vaccinations, skin prick tests, spirometry, NO measurements, drug provocations, allergen-specific immunotherapy, and immunoglobulin treatments. Providing information and counseling to patients via telephone booking (TeleQ) or 1177 "My Healthcare Contacts" is also an important part of the job. You work very independently, which involves coordinating patient administrative work. Another major part of our work is providing training in Apap/CPAP treatment for sleep apnea syndrome. You will inform and instruct patients and their relatives on the practical use of inhalation medications and other respiratory aids, as well as train internal and external staff. As a nurse, you are the first point of contact for handling needlestick injuries.

Who are you?

You are a licensed nurse with a strong interest in infectious, lung, and allergic diseases.

If you have additional education in infectious, lung, and allergy medicine, or previous work experience in these areas, it is an advantage. Some opportunities for education in these areas will be available.

We value problem-solving skills, the ability to take initiative, and being a good listener. We look for someone with good communication skills and confidence in their professional role as a nurse. Your competence and experience are important, but we place great emphasis on personal suitability.

A background check via an extract from the criminal record register will be conducted before a hiring decision is made.
