Description

Do you want to help create tomorrow's meals for children? We are now looking for an engaged and innovative cook for the meal unit, based in the kitchen at Överby Preschool.

Överby Preschool is located in a natural setting on Resarö in Vaxholm, where approximately 90–100 children attend. The meal is an important part of the children's day and a natural part of the education, with a focus on joy of eating, curiosity, and sustainability.

Responsibilities

As a cook within the meal unit, you will become part of a larger team of approximately 20 cooks and meal assistants who together are responsible for meals in Vaxholm's municipal preschools and schools.

In the kitchen at Överby Preschool, you work together with a meal assistant and have overall responsibility for the kitchen and the meals. Your duties include:

• Being responsible for all meals, including special diets and individually adapted meals
• Planning menus for your preschool within the framework of our guidelines and goals, using the dietary data program Mateo
• Ensuring that meals maintain high quality and comply with current guidelines and legal requirements
• Working systematically with self-control and food safety according to applicable regulations
• Being responsible for the budget and contributing to a resource-efficient way of working
• Collaborating with educators, management, and colleagues within the meal unit

You are also an important part of the pedagogical work regarding meals and contribute to creating a positive meal environment together with children and educators.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A restaurant, large-scale catering, or cook education at minimum upper secondary level
• Documented experience in cooking and good knowledge of ingredients
• Good knowledge of nutritional content and a strong interest in special diets and various dietary needs
• Knowledge of and experience working according to HACCP and current food legislation
