Application Sales Engineer at Ceratizit Scandinavia AB
Ceratizit is now looking for an Application Sales Engineer who wants to work closely with our customers in technically complex environments within the machining industry. The role is broad and combines technical consulting, application development, and a commercial approach, with a focus on cutting machining, process optimization, and customer-specific solutions.
This is a role for you if you want to build and develop customer relationships over time and wish to take the step from a more purely technical role to a customer-facing and business-oriented position. Here you will have the opportunity to be involved where technical decisions, customer relationships, and business are actually shaped.
Our Offer
At Ceratizit, we offer both standard tools and customer-specific solutions within cutting machining. Our offer includes cutting tools as well as application and process support, with high delivery security thanks to full control over the entire value chain – from raw material to finished product.
In close collaboration with the customer's engineering and production functions, we develop solutions that stabilize machining processes, extend tool life, and strengthen the customer's productivity and long-term competitiveness, even in technically demanding applications and hard-to-machine materials.
About the Role
In this role, you will primarily work daily at the customer's site in their production environments, often together with a Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) but in many situations also independently. The role involves quickly getting to grips with the customer's applications, technical challenges, and machining processes, and contributing deep technical consulting and application expertise.
Business and projects can vary and include everything from standard tools to long-term and technically complex projects, for both existing and new customers, where you, together with the team, develop customer-specific applications and solutions. Success is built through presence in the customer's daily work and by working closely with their engineering and production functions.
In the role, you act in an advisory and consultative capacity. You analyze the customer's machining processes, identify improvement potential, and develop new applications and technical solutions in close collaboration with the TSE. The role requires a commercial approach, where you actively contribute to upselling and further development among existing customers, even if you do not have your own customer or budget responsibility.
The work takes place primarily on-site at the customer's production environment, in addition to working from home. The customer base is primarily regional, within a radius of approximately two hours from Skövde, with a limited number of overnight stays per year. The role suits you if you want to take the next step from a technical role in the industry and develop in the borderland between technology, customer relations, and business.
Your Responsibilities
Team & Organization
You will be part of Ceratizit's Scandinavian organization consisting of 22 employees, reporting to Ceratizit's Technical Manager.
Who We Are Looking For
We believe you have good experience from the machining industry, in roles such as production technician, CNC operator, or similar, and are now interested in taking on greater responsibility with a more commercial focus. We also believe you have a knack for creating strong customer relationships thanks to deep technical competence and the ability to act as an advisor to customers.
Furthermore, we would like you to have:
- CNC machining.
- Turning, milling, or multi-operation machining.
- Practical experience from machine-near roles, such as CNC operator, production technician, or planner.
- Microsoft Office.
