Gammelkroppa Forestry College – Filipstad

Gammelkroppa Forestry College is a small, specialized forestry institution, beautifully situated one mile east of Filipstad in eastern Värmland. We graduate forestry technicians every other year and also conduct further education courses and conferences in close collaboration with the forestry industry.

We are now looking for a teacher in forestry subjects for our two-year forestry technician program.

Your responsibilities

As a teacher with us, you will teach forestry courses, with a focus adapted to your competence profile, such as ecology, timber science, forestry planning, and/or forestry management. The role includes, among other things:

• Planning, conducting, and examining teaching (lectures, exercises, field sessions).
• Mentoring students in project work and field exercises.
• Contributing to the development of courses and educational content in dialogue with colleagues and the industry.
• Contributing to our further education activities and shorter courses when relevant.

The work is varied, involving both classroom teaching and practical elements in a forest environment.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a higher education degree in forestry, such as forestry technician, forest manager, forest engineer, or equivalent.
• Has good practical field experience and understanding of practical forestry operations.
• Has experience from teaching, mentoring, or education (preferred, but not a strict requirement).
• Communicates well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

As a person, you are pedagogical, engaged, and enjoy working closely with students in a smaller educational setting. You thrive in a small team where collaboration and cross-disciplinary support are key.
