Welcome to Medical Technology within Hospitals in the West

At Medical Technology within Hospitals in the West, a total of 16 engineers and technicians work together across five different technical groups. Our primary task is to ensure that equipment is safe to use for patients and staff. Our customers are primarily our four hospitals, as well as Primary and Regional Healthcare in our catchment area. We are now looking for a replacement for our work group specializing in operating and anesthesia equipment.

We are looking for someone who is outgoing, has a strong sense of service, and well-developed collaboration skills. It is important that you can handle tasks of varying nature, have a good ability to build networks for cooperation, and have experience working in projects. You must also be able to work independently.

We offer you

The Region of Västra Götaland is undergoing a technological shift where digitalization is in focus, with the integration of connected medical technology systems. Consequently, we need to participate to a greater extent in digitalization projects at a coordinated regional level. The purpose is to achieve a cohesive function and management regarding connected medical technology equipment (MTP).

We are primarily looking for you with experience working with operating equipment such as operating tables, utility booms, and anesthesia equipment. You will be part of the Operation and Anesthesia technical group.

Your base location will primarily be at Kungälv Hospital. We work in teams, which means that planned and emergency maintenance is performed on-site at one or more of the other sites within Hospitals in the West. Therefore, you should be prepared for regular travel as part of the job.

Main duties include, among other things, corrective and preventive maintenance of medical technology equipment. Depending on competence and potential, the assignment may also include participation in procurement processes and conducting training initiatives for, among others, healthcare staff.

We primarily work with case management, which means that the operations themselves register cases in the Medusa customer portal system.

We invest in continuous competence development through training and courses where you can grow in your professional role, making your job both responsible and stimulating.

Qualifications

You should have a university-level engineering education. Experience from project management is meritorious. You should also have good knowledge of network technology, computers, and data acquisition.

Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have practical skills and experience in service work, preferably within medical technology. A practical test will take place as part of the selection process.

It is meritorious if you have previous experience working within a hospital organization and have broader general technical competence. It is also important that you have the drive to make a difference in our main task and, thereby, see your and the team's contribution as important and significant for healthcare.

You should have very good communication skills in speech and writing. It is also important that you can work with a strong customer focus, are good at documenting, and see opportunities for collaborating with colleagues remotely.

Language skills:

• Swedish; fluent in speech and writing
• English; good skills to communicate verbally and to understand service manuals and courses

A Category B driver's license is required for the position as you may need to use a car for transport.

Other

Selection and interviews will take place continuously with a break for holidays during weeks 30–33. The intended start date is in November.
