About Us

The Bipolar Clinic is Northern Europe's largest specialist clinic for bipolar disorder. It is a knowledge center for bipolar disorder and the country's leading center for research on bipolar syndromes. We collaborate closely with the Sahlgrenska Academy, and several employees are engaged in teaching and research. The clinic also hosts the national quality register, the Bipolar and Psychosis Register.

Our clinical mission is to investigate and treat bipolar disorder in patients over 18 years of age living in Gothenburg, Mölndal, Partille, Härryda, and Öckerö. As a complement to relapse-preventing medication treatment, we work preventively and health-promoting by increasing patients' and relatives' knowledge about the disease, early signs of relapse into affective episodes, the importance of medication, and awareness of stress and vulnerability factors.

The clinic is located in central Gothenburg. We have approximately fifty employees at the clinic, of whom eleven are nurses.

About the Role

You will work as a responsible nurse alongside a responsible physician in a complete psychiatric team with several other professions. The work includes psychopedagogical interventions, annual health follow-ups, assessments of patients' mental status, medication follow-ups, and telephone counseling. The work is highly varied.

About the Position

The position is a parental leave substitute for just over a year, with a possibility of extension.

About You

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse and want to work in specialized psychiatric care where the level of knowledge and competence is high. You are curious about research and development work and ready to question old working models. Experience from outpatient psychiatry and specialist education in psychiatry is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have previous experience with lithium monitoring and knowledge within psychiatric nursing. Experience with the target group of bipolar disorder is a requirement. We work in teams, and teamwork skills are important. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Base Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Base Year is mandatory and lasts during the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulator Center. In addition, it includes working on at least two different wards to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruiting nurses/doctors with foreign qualifications/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish qualification/specialist certificate.
