Student Employee for the Environmental Unit in Lerum Municipality

Lerum Municipality is known for its beautiful natural areas with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects significant growth in the coming years. Lerum is located only a 20-minute drive from Gothenburg and is currently facing a period of intense development with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The Environmental Unit

The Environmental Unit, together with the Building Permits Unit, forms the authority section of the Sector for Community Planning. Currently, we have fifteen environmental inspectors, two environmental administrators, and one environmental manager on the unit. We are eager to try new working methods and want to be at the forefront when it comes to preventing ill health and environmental risks. Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who will study to become an environmental and health inspector this autumn and want to work in a varied role where you contribute to a sustainable future. As a student employee at Lerum Municipality, you will have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge through assignments within our operations while studying. We offer you relevant and qualified work experience, a mentor, valuable contacts, and a salary. The working time corresponds to approximately 8-15 hours per week.

We are looking for a student employee, with a focus on environmental and health inspection, who is interested in participating in and contributing to supervision work with a focus on environmental protection and health protection. Your task will be to assist in the current supervision projects that the unit drives and work on an independent task, e.g., information, registry maintenance, or GIS mapping.

What can you expect?

  • Employment according to the provisions in the agreement for student employees.
  • The working time is limited to a maximum of 15 hours on average per week and during the term time. How the time is scheduled is agreed upon upon employment. We are keen that you should be able to combine work with us with your studies.

Qualifications

Who are you?

  • You are studying to become an environmental and health inspector throughout the period (Autumn 2026), e.g., the course in environmental and health protection at the University of Gothenburg (https://www.gu.se/studera/hitta-utbildning/miljo-och-halsoskydd-for-naturvetare-es2408 (https://www.gu.se/studera/hitta-utbildning/miljo-och-halsoskydd-for-naturvetare-es2408)).
  • You have an interest in environmental and health protection issues.
  • You are curious, problem-solving, structured, and enjoy communicating and collaborating with different actors.
  • It is positive if you have a B driver's license.
