The Department of Medicine conducts research and education in close collaboration with Sahlgrenska University Hospital. The Centre for Lifestyle Intervention (CLI) is a joint initiative between the University of Gothenburg and Sahlgrenska University Hospital, focusing on research on lifestyle habits and the development of individualized methods for lifestyle change.

We are now looking for a research assistant (health promoter) to the Centre for Lifestyle Intervention (CLI) in Gothenburg. The position involves close work with study participants and takes place in collaboration with a multiprofessional research team.

Responsibilities

As a health promoter, you support participants in behavioral and lifestyle changes with a special focus on diet and health. The participants have received individual advice from authorized personnel, and your task is to support the actual behavior change process. The work is carried out within the framework of research studies.

Your main responsibilities are to conduct structured health conversations focusing on diet and lifestyle, based on motivational interviewing (MI), also via video meetings, as well as to plan, implement, and follow up on individual interventions according to the study protocol. The work also includes documenting participant contacts and interventions in eCRF (electronic Case Report Form) and other relevant systems, handling bookings, follow-ups, and communication with participants in digital systems, as well as participating in other research-related and administrative tasks.

The position is located at the Centre for Lifestyle Intervention in Gothenburg. The work takes place in close collaboration with a multiprofessional research team within research studies.

Qualifications

Requirements

The position requires education in health promotion or equivalent, as well as documented knowledge in diet and nutrition and physical activity. Furthermore, experience with motivational interviewing (MI), very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good digital competence and experience working in digital systems, are required.

Merits

Experience of research projects or research-related activities is meritorious, as is experience of conducting health conversations and digital care meetings. Furthermore, experience of conducting digital conversations (video/telephone) in a professional context and experience of working with people with overweight or obesity is meritorious. Experience of the systems ELVIS, 1177, Pexip or REDCap as well as knowledge of evidence-based dietary treatment for cardiovascular disease is also meritorious.

Personal qualities

The work requires good teamwork skills and the ability to work in a team, as well as independence and a structured approach to work. Furthermore, good communication skills in meeting with participants and the ability to create trust, even in digital meetings, are required. In addition, the ability to lead and structure conversations in a clear and goal-oriented manner is required. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment

Form of employment: Fixed-term employment, 12 months.

Extent: 100%

Location: Department of Medicine, Gothenburg.

Start date: By agreement.
