About the Workplace

Säffle Culture School has 11 employees who are highly engaged in various collaborative areas and passionate about both their subjects and the school as a whole. We offer courses in music, dance, and visual arts.

The school's facilities are centrally located, with each teacher having their own classroom. We have an orchestra hall for rehearsals and concerts, as well as access to Medis large stage, where SäffleOpera is usually housed. We also provide education in the municipality's outer areas. Teaching takes place primarily in the afternoons and evenings, with some daytime classes.

Responsibilities

You will have primary responsibility for teaching violin and viola, and in some cases, cello. Teaching is conducted in groups and individually, adapted to students' prerequisites, levels, and ages.

We believe it is important that you contribute to and develop our orchestra activities, both in string ensembles and folk music. We value a broad skill set, both technically and genre-wise. Ensemble playing is a natural part of the pedagogical progression, and you will help build this.

You will lead and participate as a playing teacher in ensembles and orchestras, as well as in the school's joint concerts, productions, and shows. During the school year, there is a string project running during the day for year 2 students.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Have a university education in music pedagogy or a corresponding vocational education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Have good pedagogical competence and experience teaching children and young people. You are skilled at teaching in groups and are eager to try new pedagogical ideas.
• Possess strong instrumental technical skills and genre breadth, with experience leading large ensemble groups and various types of ensembles.
• Have good collaboration skills with other music teachers and show willingness to engage in the work this entails.
