The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing change.

SiS Youth Home Folåsa receives school-age girls with psychosocial problems, as well as those involved in crime and substance abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to contribute to life-changing change for vulnerable young people? Then the position of PTP Psychologist at SiS Youth Home Folåsa is a meaningful challenge for you.

SiS Youth Home Folåsa has five wards with space for 31 young people. As a PTP Psychologist, you are part of our Quality Unit and work in relation to our MBB wards and our treatment wards. The Quality Unit consists of psychologists, nurses, treatment secretaries, family therapists, and quality coordinators.

Here, you will have the opportunity to contribute to good care and treatment at both individual and group levels through individual treatment contacts and by supervising treatment staff in client-facing work. You will also participate in treatment planning, treatment teams, treatment collegiums, consultations, competence development through lectures, and collaboration with other healthcare providers and organizations.

At SiS Youth Home Folåsa, our treatment staff are trained in Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and our psychologists are responsible for training and consultation in TIC for all wards. If interested and based on the organization's needs, there is an opportunity to work with method development and improvement projects.

SiS Youth Home Folåsa is part of the Integrated Care development project, whose purpose is to develop knowledge on how to improve care for children and young people at SiS special youth homes who need extensive psychiatric care. This means we have close collaboration with Region Östergötland and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) clinic, and employees from BUP work on-site at Folåsa.

SiS offers good opportunities for competence development. There is an established collaboration for psychologists at the central level through annual conferences, and participation in various research projects may occur. You will have access to supervision in your work and work closely with existing psychologists. You also work in close collaboration with other professions at the institution, such as investigation secretaries, ward managers, and ward staff, which requires good cooperation skills.

As an employee at SiS, several benefits are included in your employment, which you can read about here:

If you have studied psychology in a country other than Sweden, you must present a decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) regarding PTP, and we therefore ask you to attach this to your application.

  • You have good knowledge of the Swedish language (spoken and written).
  • You have basic computer skills and good computer proficiency.
  • You have a Category B driver's license.
  • Experience working in healthcare, child and adolescent psychiatry, substance abuse care, and/or residential care for youth is meritorious.
  • Experience working within SiS is meritorious.

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in a vulnerable life situation and you share SiS core values, being a place for change. You have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people and/or clients. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time creating good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive way.

You share our vision of being a place for change, and this permeates your approach, engagement, and attitude.

At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration.
