Your responsibilities
The IKEA Food Specialist is responsible for the planning of the IKEA Food solutions in our new CMPs (Customer Meeting Points) and major rebuilds. An objective of this role is to attract visitors by offering a unique Swedish food experience and support the sales of our home furnishing offer.
Your main responsibilities will include:
• Deliver preparation, planning, design, and solutions for all food areas to ensure high efficiency and low cost, with a strong focus on customer food experience, business growth, profitability, operations, and expanding the customer base. Ensure high hygiene standards and food safety aligned with local requirements.
• Coordinate the planning of food solutions across commercial and customer areas, including back-of-house design. Ensure proper dimensioning, equipment selection, and operational efficiency. Oversee range structure, product grouping, commercial presentation, sales allocation, merchandising, planograms, add-on sales, and equipment for the Swedish Food Market and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG).
• Design and plan a unique food experience rooted in Swedish food traditions. Collaborate with the Central Planning Hub (CPHub) and relevant stakeholders to deliver food solutions that align with the overall home furnishing concept and reinforce Swedish identity.
• Manage and deliver a portfolio of projects within defined quality, time, and budget parameters by developing food solutions in collaboration with CPHub and key stakeholders.
• Stay updated on emerging solutions, technologies, and innovations. Contribute to identifying new business opportunities and ensure the implementation of the latest industry developments.
This role will be reporting to: Food Manager
Who you are
For this role you have proven advanced training in Food, Sales, Customer Management or equivalent, with a passion for food. You have a minimum of 5 years of working experience within Food Leadership/Management in a Customer Meeting Point (CMP). We believe you have experience of implementing the Retail Establishment process as well as experience in leading a multi-faceted high-volume business. Digital retail solutions and multichannel retail competence would be a plus. In addition, you possess proven strong interpersonal skills and also multicultural experience.
As a person, you have a creative mind-set with the ability to encourage creative ideas and perspectives that add value. You have good analytical capability and the ability to apply tactical and operational skills. You aspire to apply new methods, digital systems and processes to improve performance and you understand customer needs in order to challenge common ways. Also, you have the spirit to communicate and present clearly within your specific area of expertise with IKEA's tone of voice. In addition, you have the ability to work and perform with flexibility and simplicity.
You have knowledge in the following areas:
• Knowledge of CMP design, Retail Establishment process (Grow), and efficient operations
• Understanding of IKEA Food concepts, global eating habits, nutrition, and hygiene
• Strong knowledge of IKEA brand, values, omnichannel experience, and stakeholder management
• Passion for food, retail, and improving customer experience
• Driven by collaboration, innovation, and IKEA culture
• Motivated to exceed customer expectations and support business success
• Strong analytical, creative, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to apply operational/tactical thinking and adopt new tools and processes
• Clear communicator with flexibility and customer-focused mindset
• Relevant training in Food, Sales, Business, or similar (specifically MPS/ISP for CPG role)
• Familiarity and experience in IKEA Food daily operations and standards
• ~5+ years IKEA Food experience in Customer Meeting Point
• Experience in store design, retail setup, and high-volume business
• Strong interpersonal skills, multicultural exposure, fluent English
