Job Responsibilities
As an LSS case worker, you work with public authority tasks according to the Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS). You investigate applications, make decisions, and follow up on approved measures. The work involves meeting people with disabilities and their relatives or representatives, and making individual assessments based on the individual's needs, current legislation, and legal precedent.
The assignment may, for example, include measures such as personal assistance, escort service, contact person, substitute service, short-term stay away from home, short-term supervision, day activities, and housing with special service.
In this role, you have many points of contact and collaborate with, among others, relatives, guardians and administrators, service providers, healthcare, schools, other authorities, and internal partners. You are responsible for ensuring that the case handling is legally secure, clear, and characterized by professional treatment.
We work in the business system LifeCare and investigate according to IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus).
About the Workplace
The main task of the Social Services Administration is to offer individualized support and services within elderly care, disability services, children and family, adult services, and financial assistance. We are present for the municipal residents through all stages of life.
The Unit for Elderly Care and Disability Services consists of approximately 25 employees distributed across different areas. Here, assistance case workers work within elderly care, LSS, and social psychiatry. The unit also includes housing coordinators and method supporters. The unit is led by a unit manager and two group managers.
The LSS case workers form their own work group consisting of six case workers with a specialized mission within LSS. The group is led by a group manager who is also responsible for social psychiatry, where five case workers work.
Once you are introduced and independent in your work, there are opportunities to work from home approximately two days a week.
What We Are Looking For
To succeed in the role, you have:
- a degree in social work or another academic education that the employer considers equivalent
- good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
- basic computer skills
It is meritorious if you have:
- experience with public authority tasks and the investigation method according to IBIC
- knowledge of the business system LifeCare
- a valid driver's license (Category B)
Personal qualities we are looking for
The work as an LSS case worker is varied and requires that you can plan, structure, and prioritize your work. You need to be able to work independently, but also have good ability to collaborate with colleagues and other actors.
To succeed in the role, you see legal security, well-founded decisions, and good treatment as natural parts of the assignment. You express yourself clearly and professionally in both speech and writing and have the ability to explain decisions and assessments in an understandable way.
As a person, you are secure, stable, and responsible. You can handle complex situations, make trade-offs, and maintain structure even when the work is intense. You have a solution-focused approach and contribute to good collaboration within the work group.
