We are now expanding our operations with new positions and are therefore looking for Child Case Workers and Foster Care Secretaries who want to make a difference for children placed in foster care.

Who are we?

The Foster Care Unit is part of the Children and Young People business area within the Social Services Administration in Järfälla. We are a group of dedicated foster care secretaries and child case workers, many with over 15 years of experience in social work within the field of children and young people. Based on our different roles, we work side by side with everything concerning children and young people placed in foster care, contact activities, and EKB. Within the unit, we also have a placement coordinator who handles procurement of external providers and is an expert in quickly finding emergency homes and our framework agreements.

We are a well-functioning work group with a pleasant and good work climate, and above all, we do a good job and always keep the children in focus. We have close cooperation with our colleagues in other parts of the business area and have access to a large internal outpatient care.

Job Responsibilities

We work based on the three-part parenthood formed by the social services, foster homes, and biological parents. The social services have the overall responsibility, and an important task is to create good collaboration that benefits the child.

As a Child Case Worker, you are the child's own social secretary and are responsible for following up on care and ensuring that the child's needs are met in the best possible way. You conduct follow-ups and assessments, investigate the child's needs, and follow up on any outpatient interventions in close collaboration with the child's network.

As a Foster Care Secretary, you mainly work with recruiting, investigating, supervising, and supporting foster homes, contact persons, and contact families. You collaborate closely with child case workers and other colleagues to create safe and sustainable placements.

You will have close cooperation with colleagues within the unit as well as with social secretaries in other units, and you will receive close work leadership from one of our three group leaders.

The business system for case handling and documentation is Lifecare, and all work is conducted based on BBiC. We investigate foster homes according to the method "A Lasting Relationship" (En varaktig relation).

We visit our placed children and their foster homes regularly, as well as conducting home visits in all prospective foster homes during the foster care investigation, which means that travel within Sweden occurs in both roles.

Qualifications

To be part of our competent team, we want you to have professional maturity and be driven by developing the operations with a clear citizen perspective.

Formally, you need to have a degree in Social Work and preferably a few years of experience from social services activities within children and/or young people. It is an advantage if you have previously worked as a child case worker or foster care secretary within foster care. We would like you to have a driver's license.

You master relevant legislation and BBiC. Experience with Signs of Safety and MI is a strength. As a foster care secretary, it is an advantage if you have experience with the method "A Lasting Relationship" (En varaktig relation).

You are structured, stable, and empathetic without taking over others' feelings. In meetings with people in crisis, you can see opportunities, convey hope, and treat with respect. You value collaboration, understand the authority role, and take initiative in your work. You have the possibility to travel within the country to visit children and foster homes.
