Our workshop department is a key function in our operations. Here, we are responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of an extensive fleet of machinery used in daily stevedoring and terminal activities. A well-functioning workshop is a prerequisite for the port to fulfill its commitments.

About the Job

As a Workshop Technician, you are responsible for keeping machinery and equipment in good technical condition. The work takes place both in the workshop and out on the port area, depending on the nature of the assignment.

Examples of equipment you will work with include:

• Cranes and lifting equipment
• Forklifts and terminal tractors
• Loading machines
• Trailers, wagons, and other port-related equipment

The work includes both planned maintenance and emergency interventions during operational disruptions. You work closely with operations and stevedoring staff and play an important role in the daily collaboration within the port.

Qualifications

The position requires a technical interest and a curiosity to understand how machines and systems work. You have a background in mechanics and a high school education, preferably with a technical or practical focus. You have basic knowledge in mechanics as well as an understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics, enabling you to perform troubleshooting, service, and repair of various types of machinery and equipment.

Desirable Experience

Experience from port, industrial, or stevedoring operations is desirable, as is previous experience working with construction machinery or other heavy working machines. Practical experience in troubleshooting and repair is highly valued, as is holding a Category C driving license. Welding skills are also seen as an advantage in this role.
