Södra Wood is part of Södra's industrial operations and processes forest raw materials into sustainable wood products. Our sawmills are a central part of the value chain, and stable, well-functioning production is crucial for our success.

We are now looking for a substitute mechanic for our sawmill in Mönsterås. In this role, you will be a key part of ensuring that production remains operational and that our maintenance goals are met.

As a mechanic, you will have the opportunity to work broadly with maintenance in a production environment where safety, collaboration, and responsibility are in focus. The work is varied and at times intensive, requiring you to act quickly when unexpected events occur.

You will also work with:

• preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance

• troubleshooting and problem-solving in production

• contributing to a safe and well-functioning work environment

• collaborating with colleagues in a rotating shift maintenance team

The position is a 6-month interim contract, with a possibility of extension. The location is at Södra's sawmill in Mönsterås. Working hours are arranged on a shift system, meaning you will work days, evenings, weekends, and nights on a rotating schedule.

We are looking for someone who is positive, responsible, and works well in a team. You thrive in a practical role where the pace can be fast and conditions can change quickly. Safety is a given in everything you do.

To succeed in the role, you need:

• a completed upper secondary education

• mechanical skills

• strong problem-solving abilities

• proficiency in Swedish (spoken and written)

• a valid B-driver's license
