The position is located within the Social Services Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Social Services Administration is responsible for authority exercises, ordering of measures, and own management within the areas of individual and family care, LSS (Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to.

Your responsibilities

As a support pedagogue at Händelseriket, your task is to support visitors and companions through a pedagogical approach and low-affective handling. We work based on IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus) with the individual's best interests in focus. The goal is to offer activities that, based on the individual's abilities and wishes, boost self-esteem and increase self-confidence. You are responsible for Händelseriket's premises and for creating opportunities for visitors and companions to work towards strengthening the individual's participation and independence.

We work daytime, Monday to Friday.

Your workplace

Händelseriket is an activity center for children, young people, and adults who have congenital or acquired functional impairments and need stimulation in an adapted environment. Each visitor has their own companion, relative, or staff member with them during visits. All companions must attend the mandatory introduction by the responsible staff at Händelseriket, or a digital introduction available on the website. The visits are free of charge and no referral is required. Händelseriket's five experience rooms offer a unique environment with opportunities for developmental experiences, movement and sensory stimulation, tactile stimulation, activation, relaxation, interaction, initiative, and personal choices.

Who you are

You have a University College degree as a support pedagogue, or alternatively 200 YH credits within fields such as social pedagogy, treatment pedagogy, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

You should have previous experience working with people with functional impairments. It is meritorious if you have previously worked with low-affective handling, alternative communication (AAC), sign support, and/or pedagogical approaches. It is also meritorious if you have experience with IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus). Previous experience as a support pedagogue is meritorious.

As a support pedagogue, you are expected to actively drive the continuous work with implementation plans and documentation. Therefore, you need to have good computer skills and experience working with this previously. Since you work with individuals who need pedagogical support, it is important that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

You are self-reliant, take responsibility for your tasks, and drive your work forward. You work well with others and listen and communicate clearly. You also have the ability to adapt your communication style. Furthermore, you have a good understanding of how humans acquire knowledge and of people's different prerequisites. It is also important that you have empathetic abilities and can put yourself in others' perspectives and situations.
