Are you a relationship builder who wants to combine a meaningful role with an international atmosphere? Katedralskolan is now looking for a full-time mentor for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Together with dedicated teachers and the student health team, you will guide young people through their upper secondary education in a bilingual environment characterized by openness, tolerance, and academic curiosity.
Your responsibilities
As a full-time mentor at 80%, you have the important task of relieving the teaching staff by taking overall responsibility for mentoring. Your daily work revolves around creating a safe, structured, and study-focused environment for our students.
In the role of full-time mentor, you will:
- Plan, lead, and conduct mentoring sessions, development conferences, and parent meetings.
- Actively participate in the school's student welfare work and maintain a close and professional dialogue with guardians.
- Encourage, coach, and motivate students by working with goal setting, future planning, and study skills.
- Monitor student attendance and absence, and implement early, supportive, and corrective measures.
- Implement and bring to life the school's routines, action plans, code of conduct, and core values.
- Plan and conduct social activities that strengthen community and cohesion at the school.
You work in close collaboration with the school's teachers and are part of a strong network around the student together with special education teachers, counselors, study and career guidance counselors, and student assistants in the student health team (EHT). You also have a close and valuable collaboration with the school's three other full-time mentors and the IB program coordinator. At the International Baccalaureate (IB), all documentation and daily contact with students and guardians is conducted in English.
Your workplace
Tradition and development are the watchwords at Katedralskolan. We cherish the school's rich history while offering a modern, cutting-edge education, where holistic thinking and collaboration across program and subject boundaries are second nature. Katedralskolan currently has approximately 1,300 students and 125 employees.
Our teaching is characterized by a humanistic worldview that puts the individual at the center. All students should encounter openness and tolerance in their studies and be trained in creativity, initiative, and personal responsibility. We equip our students with academic and humanistic skills they need to thrive and live in our globalized world.
Katedralskolan offers four national university-preparatory upper secondary programs: the Economics Program, the Humanities Program, the Natural Science Program, and the Social Science Program, as well as a vocational program, the Sales and Service Program, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB). Through well-established international contacts, the school has an international profile that includes student exchanges with other countries and comprehensive language education. You who apply
We are primarily looking for you who have a pedagogical, social, or behavioral science education. Alternatively, you have another education that the employer deems equivalent. Good computer skills and the ability to handle digital tools are necessary. Since communication and documentation are a large part of the position, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
