Department of Infectious Diseases
We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic moments, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!
Our Operations
Are you looking for a modern and flexible job where you get both freedom, security, and the opportunity to use your full competence in your daily work? Then you might be the right person for us. The Department of Academic Home Care is expanding, and we now need more colleagues on hourly contracts for our unit.
The Department of Academic Home Care provides acute specialist care – in the patient's home. Instead of the patient being admitted to the hospital, you and your colleagues will go to the patient's home to provide the care typically performed on inpatient wards. You build relationships, see the whole picture, and make a real difference for the patient. This form of care has been applied in several places across Sweden for a few years now and shows very high patient satisfaction and patient participation.
Patient visits occur based on need and diagnosis, usually one to three times per day. The work is led by a team center together with ambulatory teams that plan and prioritize both physical and digital visits. The ambulatory team with a nurse consists of two people, and patient meetings take place physically at home and digitally via video calls with the team center's nurse and the patient's responsible physician.
Your Role
As an ambulatory nurse at the Department of Academic Home Care, you will be responsible for the care of patients in their home environment. During home visits, tasks such as blood sampling, IV antibiotics, injections, and fluid therapy may be performed. Initially, you will work with standard nursing duties during home visits, and based on experience, also in combination with responsibility for the team center. There is always a patient-responsible physician at the hospital who, in close collaboration with the nurse at the team center, plans the patient's care.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with an interest in this form of care. Meritorious is experience from inpatient care and/or home healthcare. You should be flexible in your thinking, solution-oriented, and enjoy the development and digitalization of healthcare. A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
What We Offer
We offer an hourly contract, with start date by agreement. The working hours are initially scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends, but in full-scale operations, night shifts may also become available after agreement. Employment occurs on an ongoing basis.
- Introduction consisting of both clinical and theoretical sessions, tailored individually based on previous experience.
- We apply healthy scheduling with a focus on recovery. The day shift starts at 07:30 in the morning, and the evening shift ends at 21:30.
