Investigator for Competence Centre on Disability and Social Psychiatry

The Social Services Administration in Stockholm City has an overarching and coordinating role for social services' individual and family care as well as the disability area. Here, good conditions are created to meet residents in need of social services support. In close collaboration with the district administrations, we contribute to a modern, digital, legally secure, equal, and knowledge-based social service with a strong development focus. Within the administration, a wide range of support measures is offered to the city's residents, and the offering changes based on the needs of Stockholmers and the wishes of the district administrations. The work is often carried out in close cooperation with other authorities, civil society, and business life. The Social Services Administration is also responsible for the city's catering and tobacco licenses and carries out supervision.

In the role of investigator, you belong to the Competence Area Disability and Social Psychiatry, where 45 people currently work, divided into four units. Here, investigators, project managers, administrators, and group leaders work. This position is part of the Competence Centre Disability and Social Psychiatry unit, where 17 employees and a area manager currently work. The workplace is located centrally in Farsta Centrum, close to the subway and a shopping mall with a large selection of restaurants, cafes, and shops.

Your role

In the role of investigator, your assignment is to work strategically for equality and coordination within social services' social psychiatry. The assignment also involves collaboration with other administrations, authorities, and actors. You contribute to ensuring legally secure and knowledge-based working methods and serve as a support for managers, employees, and other professionals in the city. The role includes monitoring the external environment, developing new guidelines or support materials, participating as an expert, and leading networks, conferences, and training sessions.

Your tasks include, among other things:

  • Leading city-wide manager networks, organizing training, lectures, and workshops.
  • Keeping up to date with the state of knowledge within social services.
  • Planning, implementing, and following up on budget assignments.
  • Working on development issues together with district administrations and other departments.
  • Writing and compiling service statements, responding to motions, letters, and consultations.
  • Contributing to knowledge-based development in the area.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

  • A completed degree in social work, or another academic education that the employer finds equivalent.
  • Several years of experience in qualified investigative work within the field of social services.
  • Several years of experience within the field of social psychiatry.
  • Very good knowledge within social services, such as current legislation, steering documents, and working methods.
  • Experience in writing investigations, analyses, reports, consultation responses, service statements, or other opinions.
  • Experience from working in public operations or a politically governed organization.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Professional experience within social psychiatry, both in authority operations and service provision.
  • Experience in leading assignments or projects, where experience in organizing network meetings, workshops, and/or conferences is particularly meritorious.
  • Academic further education within the field of social psychiatry.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with the implementation of new working methods and approaches.

As a person, you are structured, development-oriented, and have a good ability to independently plan and drive your work in an efficient manner. You easily switch between detail and overall perspectives, have a strong analytical mind, and the ability to handle complex issues. You enjoy working strategically and driving development within your areas of responsibility. You have good collaboration skills, are communicative, and create trusting relationships by inviting dialogue and cooperation, both internally and externally.
