The Employment Administration works to promote the municipality's growth by creating conditions for residents to engage in lifelong learning and achieve self-sufficiency. We focus on skills supply and coordinated operational services for businesses, addressing complex societal challenges with innovative approaches. The administration consists of three departments: Employment, Quality and Coordination, and Campus Trelleborg, and employs approximately 100 dedicated staff members.

The Employment Administration in Trelleborg is responsible for employment issues, financial assistance, establishment of newly arrived immigrants, municipal adult education, University College (Yrkeshögskola), and skills supply matters. Responsibilities

We are looking for a Unit Manager for our Employment Department!

As Unit Manager, you will play a key role in building and leading the unit for Employment-oriented Measures. This assignment is central to our initiative to help more residents of Trelleborg find employment, including in connection with the activity requirement in the Social Services Act coming into force on July 1, 2026.

You are responsible for a operation that supports job seekers through counseling, guidance, and language development. Together with your staff, you work on developing and implementing measures that strengthen the individual's motivation, competence, and conditions for approaching the labor market.

An important part of the assignment is to ensure quality in work training and practice within Trelleborg and Svedala municipalities. You lead the work of creating relevant opportunities where participants can build experience and take steps toward self-sufficiency.

As Unit Manager, you drive and develop the operation in close collaboration with other administrations, municipal companies, and external actors such as authorities and healthcare institutions. You play an active role in initiating and developing these collaborations.

You have full operational responsibility, which includes personnel, budget, and work environment responsibilities, as well as monitoring and developing the operation. You report to the Department Manager and are part of the Employment Administration's leadership group.

In your leadership, you create conditions for good performance, engagement, and well-being. You are clear, present, and work from the belief that high expectations contribute to development.

The assignment involves a strong focus on development, where you work in a structured and experimental manner to achieve results and improve the operation.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have experience working as a manager and have documented ability to lead change with good results. You are accustomed to utilizing and developing employees' competence as well as creating engagement and participation.

You have a post-secondary education within social sciences, behavioral sciences, or another area that the employer deems relevant. Furthermore, you have experience from the labor market area, with a special focus on practice and work training, and you have experience leading and developing operations. You have high digital competence and work in a goal- and result-oriented manner with good communicative, analytical, and structural skills. You also have a coaching approach and lead through trust-based leadership. Furthermore, you have good ability to monitor the external environment and build networks to drive change that leads to concrete results.

In addition, we consider it meritorious if you have experience in project management, working in a politically governed organization, and collaboration with authorities and other external actors within the labor market area.

As a person, you are proactive and get things done. You have a strong commitment to labor market issues and are open, development-oriented, and secure in your role. Through your demeanor, you create trust, engagement, and good collaborations.
