About the Role

The Technical and Urban Environment Department is responsible for ensuring that Landskrona's public spaces are experienced as safe, inviting, and well-maintained. This involves the operation and maintenance of sidewalks and parks, as well as water and sewer infrastructure, lighting, harbors, and coastal protection, but also sports facilities, bathing areas, and the places where club life thrives. The department also includes the municipal land survey office, responsible for land surveying and property formation within the municipality.

The city has been in an expansion phase for over a decade, and the department's work is central to how Landskrona continues to grow and develop. Another important task is to plan for public transport and traffic safety, as well as to develop in the long term how the city should look and function regarding traffic, green areas, and accessibility.

The department plays a central role in offering well-maintained and accessible facilities that enable an active club life and contribute to good public health.

Responsibilities

As Director of Administration, you lead an organization with approximately 180 employees, including 8 managers, 8 supervisors, and about thirty seasonal employees. You report directly to the City Manager and collaborate closely with other departments and municipal companies to facilitate the city's development process. You are responsible for both operational and investment budgets.

You move naturally between the administration office and the city's various operations, and have ongoing contact with other departments, municipal companies, and external contractors. The role also includes important responsibility during special events and crises, where your leadership needs to be secure and adaptable even in uncomfortable matters.

The department's mission has been organized in its current form for just over a year. We are looking for you who want to take over and continue to manage, improve, and develop the operations regarding quality, efficiency, organization, and technical competence.

Qualifications

You have a university degree in, for example, community planning, road and water, or other education that the employer considers equivalent.

You are accustomed to working in a politically governed organization and have documented experience in operational development that strengthens both results and the work environment.

You thrive in a fast pace and handle complex projects professionally and business-like. It is equally natural for you to work strategically and long-term as to dive into individual projects and specific issues when needed.

In Landskrona City, a close and present leadership style is applied where operations are based on the needs of the workplace. The role requires a good understanding of, and experience in, leading within a politically governed organization. We are looking for you with several years of documented managerial experience combined with completed leadership training.
