The Digitalization and Development Department (DUA) drives the development of the Swedish Migration Agency's processes and capabilities through innovation, business development, and digitalization.
We are now looking for a Unit Manager for Portfolio Unit 2, within the Section for Agency Development. The role involves strategic economic and portfolio management to meet the strategic shifts the Agency intends to implement.
The unit is responsible for creating decision support for the allocation of financial resources, prioritization of development initiatives, development of models for economic control and portfolio monitoring, and ensuring that investments are followed up based on economy, benefit, and effect.
The role involves many contact surfaces and close collaboration with the Agency's management, business representatives, development managers, and financial functions.
Responsibilities
As Unit Manager, you are responsible for the operations, personnel, budget, and work environment of a unit with qualified employees within economic control and portfolio monitoring.
You lead and develop the unit's work by:
- producing economic decision support for the allocation of line budgets, administrative budgets, development initiatives, and investments
- analyzing and monitoring the portfolio's economy and benefit realization
- developing methods and models for economic control of development activities
- supporting management and decision-makers with analyses and recommendations
- ensuring transparency and quality in economic monitoring and portfolio reporting
- as a manager, you lead through trust, clarity, and participation. You create conditions for employees to develop and contribute their skills while driving the business towards set goals.
You report to the Section Manager and are part of the Section's leadership group, where you contribute to the development of the operations from a holistic perspective.

You who apply have
- An academic degree in economics.
- At least five years of current managerial experience with responsibility for operations, budget, work environment, and employees.
- Experience leading economists, controllers, or similar specialist functions.
- Several years of experience in economic control, business control, or controlling in a large organization.
- Experience in producing economic decision support for management or steering groups.
- Experience leading development or change work.
- Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
It is meritorious if you have
- Managerial experience from a government agency.
- Experience in economic control of development portfolios, programs, or larger investment initiatives.
- Experience in benefit realization and effect monitoring.
- Experience in portfolio management or PMO operations.
- Experience working at the intersection of economy, business development, and digitalization.
- Experience leading employees in multiple locations and remotely.
- Experience with government steering and financing.
