About the role

As a Budget Controller, you play a vital role in the municipality's work with finance, goal-oriented management, and operational control. You work with planning, analyzing, and monitoring the municipality's results in both the short and long term. The goal is to create a solid foundation for decision-making and contribute to operations utilizing their resources in the best possible way.

You lead the municipality-wide budget process and produce financial basis for goals, planning, and follow-up. You contribute to developing the municipality's management and monitoring systems together with other key figures in the organization. You develop processes and tools for result monitoring and benchmarking of the municipality's overall efficiency.

You have a central role in the municipality's financial and operational management and work closely with several functions within the organization, including controllers, the Municipal Director, the Accounting Manager, the Quality Manager, and the Property Manager.

Responsibilities

• Plan and analyze the financial prerequisites for operations in the short and long term.
• Conduct needs analyses and tax calculations based on the municipality's population development.
• Make collective assessments of financial changes and their consequences for the municipality.
• Produce forecasts, monitor results, and be responsible for financial reporting.
• Be responsible for the financial process within the 'Management and Support' sector and report to the Municipal Board.
• Produce decision-making materials for the Municipal Board.
• Support the Finance Manager in contact with sectors and other stakeholders.

To succeed in the role, you need:

• A university degree in economics or another education combined with experience that the employer deems equivalent.
• Several years of experience in similar tasks.
• Experience working in a politically governed organization.
• Good knowledge of operational and financial management.
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

About the employment

The planned dates for interview 1 are August 6–7, and for interview 2, August 13–14.

The Finance Department is part of Management and Support and is located in the Municipal House. Those of us who work here handle both municipality-wide and committee-specific financial tasks. We strive to meet customers with the right service and clarity in a competent and responsible manner, ensuring operations are conducted efficiently while promoting development and innovation. Together, we are approximately 20 employees on the department, where we work with internal and external accounting and administrative processes in addition to financial and operational management.
