About the Role
At Vattenfall Eldistribution, we are now looking for a Manager for our Operations Planning department. As society's expectations for a secure and continuous electricity supply increase, the demands on our operations are also becoming increasingly high.
Our task is to ensure that the electricity grid can be operated efficiently and safely while being rebuilt, modernized, and maintained. Customers expect high electricity availability even during work in the grid, which requires good foresight, careful planning, and effective collaboration.
We are responsible for the entire process from identifying the need for grid outages to planning and execution in a way that minimizes or completely avoids outages for customers. Through structured planning, coordination, and continuous follow-up, we ensure both high operational safety and a good customer experience.
Your Role
We are looking for a Manager for Operations Planning who wants to lead the transformation from traditional operations planning to proactive, data-driven, and partially automated system operations. You will become a central leader in the development of a more flexible, robust, and customer-oriented electricity system – where digitalization, data, and collaboration are crucial for success.
In the role of department manager, you lead and develop the operations through a management team with four direct reporting group managers. The operations planning department consists of approximately 70 employees located in Trollhättan. You report to the Unit Manager for Operations Infrastructure and Planning and are part of the unit's management group.
You play a key role in translating strategic goals into operational reality and drive the shift towards proactive system operations supported by forecasts, real-time data, and automation. Through clear prioritization, steering, and follow-up, you ensure that the operations achieve set goals.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and lead efficient operations and outage planning, including in disturbance and standby situations with high grid utilization and minimal customer impact.
- Drive the transformation towards proactive and data-driven operations.
- Ensure collaboration within a complex system, for example with the control center, maintenance, and projects.
- Develop work to integrate risk, resilience, continuity, and readiness into the operations.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who combines strategic vision with operational understanding and has the ability to lead change. You work in a data-driven and analytical manner, making decisions based on facts, insight, and a good understanding of the business context. As a change leader, you create momentum and drive development in a clear yet inclusive and engaging way. You have the ability to inspire, create involvement, and help employees grow in line with the development of the business. You are communicative and collaboration-oriented, building strong relationships both within and outside the organization. At the same time, you are structured and responsible, with the ability to turn ambitions into results.
Qualifications
- Experience of leadership within operations, technology, energy, or related operations.
- Good understanding of digitalization, data, and system support in complex systems and operational processes.
- Documented experience of driving development in operations that are continuously influenced by both external and internal circumstances.
- Experience of working with risk, readiness, or critical infrastructure (meritorious).
- An academic degree and fluent Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
