We are now looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Organic Bioelectronics.
About the job
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher who wishes to join our team to develop new organic bioelectronic electrodes for interfaces with living systems. The position is located at the Laboratory of Organic Electronics at Linköping University, where we strive to revolutionize the interface between technology and biology by developing next-generation systems for precision drug delivery and neuromodulation devices. The work builds on our groundbreaking results in enzyme-triggered electrode fabrication in animal models as well as our pioneering work in precision drug delivery. This specific position focuses on the development, manufacturing, and characterization of implantable bioelectronic devices using a range of different techniques, including photolithography and 3D printing.
About you
You have strong problem-solving skills, can work effectively in an interdisciplinary and international team, and possess excellent communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity for you to work at the intersection of chemistry, biology, and electronics within the highly collaborative and supportive environment of the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (https://liu.se/en/research/laboratory-of-organic-electronics (https://liu.se/en/research/laboratory-of-organic-electronics)).
We require you to have:
- A PhD in applied physics, (applied/mechanical) engineering, materials science, or equivalent
- Relevant postdoctoral experience
- Experience with cleanroom microfabrication
- Experience with additive manufacturing (e.g., 3D printing)
- Experience with electrochemical methods
- Documented experience in peer-reviewed publications
- Written and oral proficiency in English (all activities at the Laboratory of Organic Electronics are conducted in English)
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience in organic (bio)electronics, including the fabrication and characterization of thin-film components (e.g., OECTs)
- Experience with drug delivery methods and characterization
- Experience with ion-selective membranes and components
- Experience with microfluidics
- Experience with organic mixed ionic-electronic conductors (OMIECs) or related materials
- Experience with advanced electrochemical and electrical characterization
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in producing high-quality comprehensive reports and data visualization, as well as contributing to manuscript writing
Your workplace
You will formally belong to LOE's group for organic bioelectronics (https://liu.se/en/research/organic-bioelectronics (https://liu.se/en/research/organic-bioelectronics)), where we study transduction between electronic signals and ionic/molecular signals in electroactive surfaces, "iontronic" chemical delivery and circuits, biosensors, mimicking neural function, and many other areas. LOE is part of Linköping University's Department of Science and Technology and is located by the Motala ström on Campus Norrköping.
About the employment
This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, full-time.
Start date by agreement.
Salary and benefits
Linköping University applies individual and differentiated salary setting in accordance with the current collective agreement (RALS/RALS-T) and the university's guidelines for salary formation.
