We are now looking for you who want to be part of the Swedish Armed Forces' growth journey and work to prevent, maintain, and develop good health and a sustainable working life for personnel and conscripts at the Uppland Air Wing. We offer a varied and stimulating work environment. The Swedish Armed Forces are in an exciting development phase with a focus on growth. Here, you will work in a multiprofessional team with varied tasks. Good training facilities are available on site, and training during working hours is practiced. Opportunities for competence development are excellent.

About the unit

F 16 Defence Health is an internal occupational health service for the Swedish Armed Forces' employees. Its task is to offer promoting, preventive, and supportive measures to employed personnel at the individual, group, and organizational levels. In addition, free health and medical care is offered to students, conscripts, and cadets. An important task is also to assist with medical readiness during military exercises and operations.

You will work for F 16 and serve as a nurse at Defence Health in Uppsala, with a clinic at Uppsala Garrison, Ärna. Organisationally, Defence Health belongs to the 163rd Garrison Battalion and is an important part of solving the tasks and challenges that Sweden and the Swedish Armed Forces face. At Uppsala Garrison, there are conscripts and more units, including the Air Staff, the Air Combat School, and the Swedish Armed Forces Intelligence and Security Centre. Defence Health offers services to all units and conscripts within the Garrison.

Main tasks

As a nurse at F 16, you work with clinic services/health and medical care for conscripts and students, as well as occupational health care for all employed personnel. The work includes health-promoting, preventive, treating, and rehabilitative tasks. You will work independently and in close collaboration with the other professions at Defence Health to support the organization, group, and/or individual. Duty during inconvenient hours may occur as we maintain high medical readiness during exercises, usually at other locations.

Your duties include, among other things:

  • Sampling, vaccinations
  • General clinic work
  • Health and medical care for conscripts and students both at the garrison and in the field
  • Support and counseling to managers and employees in health and work environment issues
  • Statutory and general health examinations
  • Work-oriented rehabilitation
  • Training initiatives

Within the Swedish Armed Forces, we always work as a team. Our organization is built on cooperation, adaptability, and a shared responsibility for the whole. This means that we are all ready to support each other, sometimes even outside our own competence and comfort zones. Therefore, as an employee, you may occasionally be faced with new types of tasks. This is a natural part of working in the Swedish Armed Forces, which benefits both the agency and the employee's development, and you will never be given a task for which you do not have the prerequisites to handle.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Registered nurse with relevant specialist competence. Occupational health nurse or district nurse is prioritized.
  • At least 5 years of current and relevant professional experience as a nurse.
  • Category B driver's license.

Personal qualities

You have a health-promoting mindset and a genuine interest in people, their health, and their work environment. You are secure and stable, as well as self-reliant, and enjoy collaborating in teams with other professional categories. It is important that you are responsible, cooperative, flexible, and proactive to meet the needs that arise in our operations. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience from occupational health care and/or work at a health center
  • Experience in conducting health assessments and coordinating rehabilitation in working life
  • Experience working in multiprofessional teams
