Your Next Challenge
This role is perfect for you if you want to work with damage phenomena in pressure vessels and pipelines. In this position, you will play a central role in ensuring safe operations, regulatory compliance, and optimized lifespan for critical plant components. You will become part of our engineering team within maintenance at the pulp mill, working closely with both operations and maintenance teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform risk assessments according to current standards and regulations
- Establish, develop, and maintain life journals for pressure vessels
- Analyze degradation mechanisms such as corrosion, fatigue, and creep to identify risks and prevent damage
- Prepare data for inspection and maintenance planning
- Participate in inspections and collaborate with the operations and maintenance organization
- Contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement work
A significant part of the role involves analytical office work, but you will also have a practical presence out in the plant, providing technical expertise on issues crucial to the plant's safety and availability.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who is meticulous, quality-conscious, and has a structured approach to work. You thrive working independently and taking responsibility for your tasks, while also having strong collaboration skills and valuing good relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders in the business.
You are communicative and clear in both speech and writing, with the ability to compile and convey technical information in a professional and easy-to-understand manner. This role suits you if you are analytical, solution-oriented, and want to contribute to both safety and development within the business.
To fit into the role, we see that you:
- Hold a university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar.
- Have an interest in process industry and technical safety
- Have knowledge of pressure equipment, or are willing to learn
- Fluently speak Swedish, as the language is used in the work
It is an advantage if you have knowledge of standards such as AFS 2023:11, PED, or EN 13445.
Our core values – responsibility, excellence, and respect – are the foundation of everything we do at SCA. Therefore, it is important that your values align with ours.
What do we offer you?
Here, you will have great opportunities to grow and develop. We encourage competence development, taking responsibility, and realizing your ideas. At SCA, we care about each other and offer an open, supportive work climate. We also understand the importance of a sustainable working life. As an employee, you will work with the latest technology and be part of the transition to a sustainable society. Our forests bind carbon dioxide, we utilize every part of the trees we harvest, and our products can replace fossil alternatives. Together, this contributes to reducing emissions equivalent to Sweden's passenger car traffic for one year. Making a real difference gives the work an extra dimension. The position is permanent. Location: SCA Munksund.
